Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| The only way he doesn’t lose his job is if he’s in treatment for mental health or substance abuse. |
Um, he will lose his job even if he has mental health and substance abuse issues. No parent will want him in a school where their kid goes. It's definitely over for him and those who allowed this behavior to happen. Too much at stake for MCPS as this already made national news. I know tons of families who will have a conniption if they pardon him. It will not be a good look for MCPS, and political reasons wouldn't allow that to happen. |
It may be over for him. It’s definitely not over for anyone who allowed this to happen. The coverup is well under way. |

The link to file a complaint with the federal Department of Education regarding sexual harassment--which is a form of sex discrimination and prohibited as it pertains to students by Title IX, in MCPS and in all other schools, public and private, receiving federal funding--is here:
https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/docs/howto.html You do not need to be the person to whom the harassment was directed to complain. |
There's only so much cover up you can do. The only people wiling to protect MCPS administrators who allowed this to happen are other MCPS central administrators/leaders. A ton of teachers/staff hate that group and I'm willing to bet that most families are disgusted with them. |

Looks like the County Council isn't a big fan of MCPS administration either:
https://moco360.media/2023/08/16/mcps-superintendent-promises-open-communication-in-beidleman-investigation/ Asked about the investigation, Elrich said he and the County Council “don’t have a truly collaborative, interactive relationship” with the MCPS administration, adding that it “would be nice” if the Maryland Office of the Inspector General were to step into the investigation to provide neutral oversight. |

Admin can be kicked to the curb.
My old middle school principal 20 years ago got busted in a prostitution sweep. Last I heard he was working at an liquor shop. The funniest thing is that he led the development of "Character Counts" for the school system (FCPS, MD). |
For anyone who would like to complain to the Maryland OIG for education, that email address is here: https://oige.maryland.gov/contact-us/ |
If you followed the budgeting process, Elrich and the County Council both complained about the unproductive, uncollaborative and combative relationship MCPS has with them. So it's not their first time saying they don't think highly of MCPS leadership. |

I just hope that the end result here isn’t that teachers contracts aren’t fully funded. Clearly they are working hard to earn their money!
Maybe it’s time we add a teacher to the BOE as well. They have one at the state level and at the moment the students have more power at the Board due to the existence of the SMOB |
I'm sure they will be looking at it much closer now and likely turning everything over to the investigating firm for review. I hope all past incidents get reported, it's the only way to change the culture. |
Hey, Hood is a real school! Well, sort of. 😏 |
| McKnight needs to resign NOW |
I would not assume that a Maryland state entity is going to turn over its records to a third party conducting an "impartial investigation" while already on the district's payroll. An independent good reason for the OIG to be in charge of how this is investigated. |
It doesn’t matter. The investigator is their defense firm. The investigation is already poisoned. |
