| I wonder if some powers arranged Meg and Harry union with hopes to one day use either one as a political candidate. With her biracial and his royal background and combined philanthropic goodwill , they would've made ideal candidates. However, it exploded earlier than that. Sudden rise of Meg, Megxit and then powerful celebrities tripping over themselves to help the duo was kind of odd. |
Did you read the book? I would agree that’s where they are now but what it took to get there wasn’t an easy road. There are people that have that and didn’t lose their mother as a teen due to the press chasing them and taking pictures as they were dying, they didn’t have a whole industry of hate built up against their spouse where it was used to deflect from other stories and drive up online clicks, they didn’t get credible death threats against your spouse and worry if they would have the money to afford security, have close friends or anyone they might be dating followed by the press. And for Harry this was all while he wasn’t allowed to work, was dependent on an allowance and was being told never to comment about press stories. In my opinion while he had perks because of his birth, he didn’t have the power and the kind of money that could protect him and his spouse and kids. Anyway, I’ve been listening to the audiobook and love it. |
| If Harry wanted to fade out into private obscurity, why marry a TV celebrity, do an Oprah tell all, Netflix tell all, book tell all, and move to Cali? This makes absolutely zero sense to me. |
Since your conclusions seem off, perhaps you should question your premise. What evidence do you have — from Harry himself — that “Harry wanted to fade out into private obscurity “? Note: Unnamed sources “close to” people who haven’t commented themselves don’t count as actual evidence, even when they’re quoted in the tabloids. Neither do the opinionated public ravings of people who haven’t actually spoken with Harry. Neat idea!: Since Harry just published a book, and this thread purports to be about the book — does Harry mention anywhere in the book that he wanted “private obscurity “? |
Isn't his chief complaint the press and being followed?? |
DP. You didn't read the book, did you? |
| They want all the advantages of being celebrities without any of the disadvantages even though human interest is the only thing which raises their values. Its not like they've some exceptional skills, talents or abilities, other than his royal connection. If tabloids weren't creating all the interest, I doubt his book would've sold as many copies or Netflix would've offered as much money as it did. |
| Tabloid culture sure is toxic but creates free publicity leading to generate $$$$$$$$$$ for celebrities. Its a symbiotic relationship. |
+1 Clearly not, or the PP would understand the terrible mistreatment this couple has endured and its lasting effect on their lives. |
| We've to give it to them some respect for standing up against people who wronged them. Its not for faint of heart. |
+1 Such bravery. |
It’s not delusional at all. He was very successful in highlighting causes. So successful that it threatened other more senior members of the royal family. |
As you didn’t read the book please leave this congregation to those of us that did. |
Standing up = setting boundaries and possibly walking away like a grown up This whole picture looks more to me like revenge and monetizing it |
| Let’s start reporting posters who haven’t read the book and are just stirring trouble. This thread is to discuss the book, not what you think you know about Prince Harry. |
