He was storing some of these documents in the basement storage room with beach chairs. He didn’t keep some highly sensitive classified documents under lock and key until June, when he was specifically instructed to and a padlock was put on the door. Many of the employees who staff his various properties are foreign because Trump wants cheap labor. The situation was a complete train wreck. |
Indeed. It's likely that for several years at least Trump has had crucial national security documents accessible to hundreds if not thousands of people (all Mar a Lago staff and visitors, not to mention staff and visitors to his other residences). Foreign governments and spies have been targeting him knowing he is a weak link with no scruples who would sell out his own mother if the paycheck was high enough. We will be find out damage that resulted from his criminality for decades to come. And there will be countless impacts of his irresponsibility coupled with lack of ethics and morals that will never be known. We're in upside down land and whether or not, at the end of this crazy era, the US will still hold on to any shred of its democracy or rule of law is still to be seen. |
The public won't know most of the future impacts because the government wouldn't ever release that information. But, I do think that our IC has been severely compromised because of Trump, just like how Bush/Chenney compromised some of our IC as payback for them not supporting the WMD storyline. I used to think Rs were strong on foreign affairs, and Dems were weak. It's part of the reason why I had been a R way back. After Bush and now Trump, I 100% know the Rs don't really care about the US as a country as much as they care about their own power and bank accounts. They are not patriots. 1/6 also cemented that. |
TFG is unequivocally transactional. He pardoned Stone, Flynn and Manafort because they could turn on him. |
He thinks they are his documents. He doesn’t understand how anything that he had in his office is not his personal property. He’s really that simple. |
| These Trump apologists are the same people who demanded that Hillary Clinton be locked up because someone on her staff emailed her a New York Times article that mentioned classified information. |
Because he is a narcissist and a megalomaniac. He thinks that he never lost the election and is still the President and his white house is in Maralago. He still entitled to that documents he brought from the WH. Because he is a cult leader with millions base supporter who already sold their soul to him and will follow and believe whatever he said no matter how he spin everything out. He is a salesman and his main product is “patriotism”, he is using religion, race, priviledge as a tool. You can argue with their base supporter until your face turn red and you still will never understand. |
| The FBI was required to provide a receipt for the inventory of siezed materials. Why isn’t every Democrat in Congress demanding that this be released by TFG? |
| Trump doesnt have the best judgment or good morals. But I have trouble believing he would sell classified documents. If you look through prosecutions of people selling classified, the people selling really didnt make much money at all, certainly not enough for any normal person to think represents a good risk/reward proposition. Trump is a wealthy man and can always make money selling his time as a speaker, etc in the same way that prior presidents did. Espionage is for nobodies, middling professionals usually no higher than GG-15s. |
he likes to feel important. why did he release the name of a person in IC to the Russians? it isn't for the $$. it is to feel like a big shot. |
Indeed, he and his people don't understand jacksh1t about the office of POTUS, and that was clear also during his tenure. |
Oh, I don't think he is looking for money in return - he's looking for foreign help for another win in 2024. |
I can see him spilling info; he already did that. But I think it would be degrading to him to literally sell documents. It would be like El Chapo selling pot on a street corner. |
If released the warrant return, which likely lists the documents, we'd likely get a lot of indication on why he insisted on keeping the documents even though he was asked nicely to give them back many times. |
You'd think he would sell agreements to support certain policies or actions in exchange for help. Not a classified document, like a peasant. |
