Riviera Maya Resort Recc

Please recommend a great resort for family with elementary age kids in Riviera Maya. We don't need all inclusive although not opposed to it.

Seconding Grand Velas. Love it.

S/O--are you all paying 500$+ for these all inclusives? We just came back from Cancun and didn't do an all inclusive because with two kids under the age of 6, it wasn't worth it for me to spend the 120$/pp fee (and kids counted as people) for a low-end all inclusive. I would one day like to stay in one because it would be more relaxing with little kids.

+1

I've been there twice and would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

Not a PP but I just looked at Grand Velas for a week in June 2019 (we're looking into a family trip) and it was $1000/night.

I have heard good things about the Paradisus Esmerelda and it's about half that.

The beach at Grand Velas is not great. Fairmont Mayakovsky is great and AI is optional
