We just came back from Cancun and didn't do an all inclusive because with two kids under the age of 6, it wasn't worth it for me to spend the 120$/pp fee (and kids counted as people) for a low-end all inclusive. I would one day like to stay in one because it would be more relaxing with little kids.

Not a PP but I just looked at Grand Velas for a week in June 2019 (we're looking into a family trip) and it was $1000/night.

I have heard good things about the Paradisus Esmerelda and it's about half that.

I’ve been to both. Grand Velas is better. The beach at Paradisus is kind of a walk. The whole property is huge and it’s split between adults only and families. The food wasn’t great. If you go, splurge for the royal service. There’s a lot of beach chairs etc reserved for royal service.

Assume you meant Fairmont Mayakoba? We like it too.

Rosewood mayakoba. Expensive but not outrageous. Personal butler huge rooms including separate sitting room with 2 beds. Private plunge pool, bath and outdoor shower. Beach is nice, events like family movies on beach - kids can enjoy dinner kids club while you enjoy your dinner close by. Not all inclusive but bar none best food at a resort I’ve ever had and I only go to 5 star resorts. They told us they do appx 85% repeat business - I think they have a 90% 5 star rating on trip advisor!!

Unless you are squeamish about dolphins being kept in a small pen on resort property. (

Hi - I've heard great things about Grand Velas as well, but can you play tennis? They don't have courts on property, from what i understand.

np, I refuse to stay where they imprison dolphins. It's extremely cruel
Dolphins are brilliant and should be free to explore in the wide open ocean, not do the same boring routines to please uneducated humans.
