I know the President will not changed the economy 100%. The President in the USA doesn't control rent prices, or food prices. In America we have our 1st amendment to complain all we want, but if you ever went to Iraq or Afghanistan you will be thankfully on how lucky we are.
We need to be more thankfully for what we have have. Most counites will die to have a 4% in inflation rate.

You realize that the combined three bank failures that happened in 2023 are larger than the 25 bank failures that happened in the 2008 subprime credit crisis, right?

We are on very shaky ground. No one will talk about it until we hit a wall.

Not quite accurate.

What Trump's tax cut did was take money out of the government deciding how people's earnings were spent and put more in the earner's pocket for them to decide how it is spent.

You sweet summer child. As if acquiring money is the same thing as earning it.

Find a dollar, earn a dollar. No difference for your bank account.

But you didn't care about the 25% spike in the debt under the Trump Administration. Or the 25% bump under the Bush 43 administration. Only the dems, right?

I've always cared about debt. Who are you to tell me I didn't care about it?

Can you link to a post here where you worried about debt during the Trump administration?

Trump cut spending. You know we used to mail cheese to people with food stamps? NOW Trump started giving people an Debt Card style card, so they don't have to waste for the mailman to come with the chasse, people are buying cheese with card, no more need to spend money on sending people chesse.

What universe are you even on?

The EBT card has been a thing for decades now. It’s more convenient than the actual food stamps

There was government cheese, yes. And news flash. You can still qualify to buy it!!! Trump didn’t stop this.

Lastly, check the budget of the Trump years. The deficit increased during his administration, even if you exclude the Covid year.

God, I wish boomers stopped licking lead paint and started reading actual economic news.

This is why we have inflation. It doesn’t have anything to do with the government in 1980 or otherwise.

Why do you think Republicans wouldn’t allow this? Show me one actual policy that the GOP has introduced that prioritizes the needs of the many. For crying out loud, Trump has sad he would re-establish all the forgiven student loan debt, because kicking regular people is the favorite pasttime of the GOP.

No, you're trying to pass that debt on to the tax payer. That's not right. Those loans were taken by the students.

Don't pass your debt onto someone else. Stop making your problems everyone's problems.

A change this extreme is simply unworkable. Everybody--rich and poor (not to mention the GOP Congressional lifers)--loses under this plan. And BTW, the student debt issue is a good example where non-MAGA voters don't brainlessly support everything one party says. I'm voting Biden but don't think student debt should be forgiven. This changes nothing and simply encourages colleges to continue raising prices.

Watch the John Oliver piece about student debt so you can understand the issue that the Biden Administration is trying to address. (hint they aren't just giving people free money)

You've killed the feedback mechanism for payment. Stop government funding of higher education and the problem disappears.

Tuition prices will drop significantly the minute the government no longer funds and guarantees loans.

When the end customer does not feel the weight of their decisions, unintended consequences occur from lack of feedback by the market.

I could have told you this decades ago. Government doesn't solve problems; it creates them.

“A new Moody’s analysis finds Biden’s economic policies are significantly better for the U.S. economy, while Trump’s plans would trigger a recession, cut 3.2 million jobs, add 1% to inflation, and reduce middle-class families’ incomes by $2,000.”

Which means we need more workers and more trained workers.

The GOP wants to cut education including the trades, opposed unions, who sponsor apprenticeships and want to deport the immigrants who actually do a lot of this labor.

I mean, where is the white person complaining that an immigrant took their fruit picking or slaugher house jobs?
