Wow...shocked! |
What a joke. |
Ridiculous and I don’t even have a kid in school yet. |
Unbelievable. Except that it's believable, because somehow everyone is this area is convinced this is Atlanta or Tampa and we can't possibly be expected to manage a tiny bit of snow. Even though it comes every winter. |
Schedule so far for January
1/1-Holiday 1/2-Full Day 1/3-Full Day 1/4-Closed for Snow 1/5-2 hr Delay 1/8-Early Release 1/9-2 hr Delay 1/10-Full Day 1/11-Full Day 1/12-Full Day 1/15-Holiday 1/16-Full Day 1/17-Closed for Snow Not to mention next week is early release on 1/25 and closed on 1/26. |
They did not even say they planned to re-evaluate after the two hour delay. Did something happen? |
Ridiculous. They should just close down MCPS during the months of January and February since they can’t cope with the slightest bit of weather. |
Thank you! |
Some of you seem to forget that there was a bus that slipped on the side of the road last week. No one hurt but imagine if that was your child in there. You would've freaked out. That's why. Highways are fine, school buses drive on neighborhood street. If you haven't walked outside yet and feel that some spots are slippery.
I understand that you need to get to work. I hate missing so much work too but I guess there were some buses that went out and realized it was not good enough to drive in. |
Bastards. |
My husband drove to VA this morning and said the roads were pretty icy until he got down 66 a little. Apparently the first bit of snow melted and then froze so there is a lot of patchy ice under the snow. I was surprised as well, but I do not envy the people that need to make these difficult safety decisions each time it snows. |
My kid starts K next year. Does this mean before/aftercare would be open? Rachel Carson ES. |
Wondering if that bus accident last week scared them to death. Or road conditions are worse upcounty. This seems overcautious looking out my window, but I only live in one spot. |
