Thanks to those who do. And those living in and around the Edgemoor neighborhood of Bethesda, SHAME on those who don't pick up. It's not that cold. It's not that rainy. Go out with several bags. Don't leave that blue bag lying around either. Stop yelling in your phone long enough to notice what your dog is doing. If you're too busy accumulating filthy lucre to walk your own dog, tell your dog walker to pick up after the dog. |
If I were to find out that my dog walker were not picking up after my dog, I'd have a new dog walker. Its part of what they are paid for. |
+1000, the poo is always so bad in winter. People are awful. |
It's a natural substance. Stop with the pearl clutching. It fertilizes the grass and the trees, and it's a whole lot healthier than the stuff coming out of your car exhaust that is going directly into kids lungs. |
Post your address please so I can leave a bag of shit on your doorstep. |
you are wrong. Dog and cat poop is very bad for the environment and wildlife. They have extremely dangerous bacteria in them that can kill fish and turtles in ponds. Their pee can burn grass on lawns. It seems you are very ignorant and not well educated. DCUM start reporting these people to the authorities. |
Ugh around in Arlington as well. Even on the damn sidewalk! |
Seriously! Can you imagine the uproar if people started leaving their kids' used diapers all over the ground? |
Dog owners have been extra lazy, since it got cold. And worse are the people who bag their dog's poop - AND THEN LEAVE THE PLASTIC BAGS OF POOP ON THE SIDE OF A PATH/SIDEWALK/TRAIL. Who does that?!
I don't understand why people get dogs if they don't want to be responsible for them. Your laziness is not other people's problem. Ditto for the people who walk their dog off leash, or poorly leashed. |
+1000 with the abandoned bagged poop. Yuck, and completely pointless! -signed, a dog owner who ALWAYS picks up her dog’s poop. |
PP is a bag of shit! |
Has the thought crossed your mind that they might be coming back the way they came and will be picking it up on the way back? I do this so I don't have to carry a smelly bag on to a place that I will be returning from. |
Old Town, too. My kid stepped out of our car curbside on Royal St. and barely missed a pile. At least it's more frozen this time of year than in summer, when I stepped in some on the sidewalk in Del Ray. |
I've seen those bags remain day after day. And sorry, you should dispose of your dog's poop properly. You think it's ok to leave a bag of smelly poop out for later, but you don't want to carry YOUR dog's poop? Be a responsible owner and dispose ASAP, or hold on to it until the opportunity comes up. |
So you think car exhaust is less harmful than a little dog poop. Ok. Tell ya what. I'll sit inside a closed garage next to a pile of dog poop for a few hours, and you do the same with a car with the motor running. Then we'll see who's right. |
