Does anyone have a great book/website/blog/etc that will give me solid information on intermittent fasting? Planning on starting soon. |
Jason Fung "The Obesity Code" |
marksdailyapple.com/blog and search intermittent fasting and he has a 7-parter and in there he talks about different ways people do it.
It's a nice way to get an overview. FYI if you are eating a bunch of carbs in the form of grain and sugar, then it is not the best thing to do because your insulin levels will be all over the place. It takes time to get your body adapted to using fat for fuel vs. sugar, but once it does, then IF is very easy because your insulin stays stable. |
thanks! I did some research on it and didn't realize there are so many ways to do it. I think I am going to research the alternate day fast. |
www.dietdoctor.com -- lots of free articles. There are lots of ways to do IF -- I don't think there's a "right" way, only the way that works for you and you can stick to. |
The Economists Diet.
It’s talks about minifeast/minifasting. The premise is to weigh yourself daily so that you can make adjustments based on that vs designated time periods. (Full Disclosure: I’m married to a coauthor. Obviously I want you to buy the book, but I can also vouch for the method and it’s success for long term weight management.) |
The Bible. Seriously. This is where it is started. |
