Hmmm. I think you're right about him not offering solutions; but he definitely seeks opinions and advice and listens. And he isn't rude or unnecessarily aggressive and off-putting. |
Oh, wait. I mis-read the above. SIMS - absolutely not!!! My comments about not offering solutions but soliciting opinions and listening pertained to Priddy. I agree with PP. Sims is a status quo "big" talker. He offers nothing, not for the Black community or any other community. |
Yeah Priddy is an active listener and only talks when he actually has something to say, which are good qualities. |
This just might be worth joining Twitter for . . . ![]() |
Who's bringing the popcorn to the debate? ![]() |
I think it would be distracting from hearing the other candidates' responses and/or the question being asked. Can't she just tweet them or post them immediately after the debate - in full answers rather than tweets? This seems like a way to participate without being able to participate....especially if she's going to be in the same room, for cryin' out loud. It also indicates she's not completely listening to everything her opponents are saying. You can't tweet and listen at the same time. It's coming off a bit arrogant or self-centered, the more I think about it. |
Arrogant and self- centered, like the person who doesn’t think the Hatch Act applies to her even though every other Fed in the county has followed it? |

This is the type of arrogance, entitlement and complete lack of self-awareness that ensures I will vote against her. |
PP. Yeah, I guess some people see it as being strong and speaking out for what you believe. But it's really "all about me and I'll do whatever I want." Haven't we just seen over the past 3 years what an arrogant, self-centered tweeting leader is like? Divisive, inciting, and above the law? |
I don't get all the hate on Symone. She didn't assume it was OK. She asked. And was told yes. And proceeded accordingly. You can say she should have pushed back more and assumed she was given bad advice, but that seems a stretch to me. Why all the vindictiveness about this? |
For me, it’s the “rules don’t apply to me” and “I’m a victim bc I can’t do whatever I want” mentality that I see in my classroom everyday. If this has become a rampant problem in my school, I surely don’t want a grown up who acts that way making decisions for the schools. |
Because it seems fishy....she had to have asked in a very narrow way to get a ruling like that, because the answer is obvious....and once OSC got the facts, they weighed in accordingly. And then there is her blaming everyone else and not taking any responsibility at all. It is very off putting. |
Everyone in politics in Arlington knows its not OK. She went ahead anyhow, when every other federal employee who might like to run for School Board knows they can't win as an independent (only one person has won a school board race without winning the ACDC endorsement in the last 20 years) and therefore doesn't even try. Then she blames it on another candidate, instead of the Hatch Act (which is, admittedly, dumb when it comes to things like local school board races.) |
