It must be because UVA is one of the most unattractive campuses I’ve ever seen. I just don’t get the love for that one. Good school, but definitely not a beautiful campus.

If you just drive through UVA, it doesn't give the best impression. You have to walk around the Lawn area.

Cambridge in the UK was clearly the nicest I've seen. In the U.S. Yale and Princeton are the closest, perhaps along with Chicago. I also really liked Stanford, William and Mary, and Colorado.

Based on the schools DD toured or attended: BC, W&L, Richmond, JHU were great. Hated Tufts, Georgetown.

I know it’s not quite what op asked but my niece is at Amherst and keeps sending me images of her delicious gorgeous meals! I am so jealous it makes me want to uproot and get a job and work there to get access to that food! I never even considered food when I was looking but it has a big impact on college life since you never cook for yourself.

Caltech has a wonderful campus. I envy anyone who can study there.

I was at UVA this week for orientation. Campus is beautiful.

Princeton was always my favorite, especially in the Fall.

Miami of Ohio (exquisite)

Wellesley (heavily wooded—felt like Robin Hood would drop out of a tree at any moment)

Richmond (very clean and well-maintained; spouse said “This is what a college SHOULD look like”)

Indiana (trees perfectly interspersed with nice buildings)

Texas Tech & Oklahoma State (surprisingly)

As an Amherst College student, I really hope you're referring to UMass. Dunking on Val (the dining hall) is practically a national pastime here.

I know the campus is referred to as grounds and students are first year, second year etc. rather than freshman, sophomore. Just using the word campus here for consistency.
