Western HS is set to open up this upcoming fall in the Centerville / Chantilly area...

I have spoken to several football and lacrosse coaches from schools in that area, and they expect a big impact in terms of neighborhoods they will pull / steal kids from.

all Kids currently in HS that live in the new Western HS boundaries are grandfathered in and will stay at their current home school.

This won't make a big impact for 3-4 years, until the current 8th graders in the Western HS boundaries are seniors in HS and they have a full school / class.

However, from conversations with coaches they will be pulling from some of the top Neighborhoods from Chantilly, Westfield, and Centerville HS.

Majority of the conversations I have had, has been with football coaches, but there is real concern on the impact it will have at those programs in terms of talent in the next 3-4 years. Big shake up to the concord coming. If anything, this will help separate Madison / Oakton from the rest of the pack in a few years if those programs get slightly watered down.

Sounds like you're pre-whining about something that'll happen in 5 years.

GTFO.

I thought that would happen in 2027?

Chantilly Westfield and centreville are already worse than madison / Oakton in lacrosse.

The next realignment will be for the 2027/28 School Year. Lightridge is already going up then, but wasn't aware that Briar Woods was in that mix. It will be short lived, as HS-14 opens up in Loudoun in the Fall of 2028, and will take kids primarily from Indy and Briar Woods. HS-14 is like 1-mile up the road from Indy on Evergreen Mills Road.
