Why is Northeastern (NEU) so popular with both parents and students these days?

Pretty nice to see a school operating as a school.

Student tour groups are also happening. They essentially will have tour groups each weekday through the summer. When people wonder why so many apply, the proximity to BC, BU, Tufts, Harvard, MIT, Babson, Wellesley, Emerson has a built in advantage over other cities. Many, many come for college tours because you can visit so many in such a short time. Obviously not every college will cross pollinate with prospective students, but Boston is the top draw in the country for college visits.

How is that name calling helping you? Is it helping you cope with being rejected? How about rejected from Northeastern? Hard pill for you to swallow, apparently.

Hey, if you don't get in to Harvard, BU, BC, MIT, Tufts, or Brandeis, then Northeastern and Framingham are solid safeties. Nothing wrong with it.

+1

DC did tours during spring break, loves the Boston area, and will be applying to NEU and a few of the schools you mentioned above. Hoping for an acceptance to at least one of them.

Another bystander, but I'm so over the crazy booster. This thread has run its course 5x over!

Except there is no “booster” only OP and their small contingent who are “haters”, and those with experience who know better and correct them. Then OP and their two friends chime in with the name calling.

I must say that I’ve never seen quite a temper tantrum about being denied from a college before. For shame, OP and their two friends. Don’t expect to bully kids about their college choice and not have people tell you to eff off, “big, tough man”.

PP here. Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh! Booster, please, stop the crazy! None of us have kids that were denied. We're just tired of your constant factless assertions/promotions. Just be happy and quit raining down your deranged derecho of delusion.

That’s the way to go. My kid also fell in love with the whole Boston vibe. Applied to 4 of the schools on the list. 3 admits, one WL. Committed based on several factors, buy not any current ranking of admission rate.

Love seeing you so upset after you started your bs. You can deny it all you want. You deserve it.

Congrats!

Hope DC is as fortunate around this time next year.

I think that is why you see so many applications to schools like BU and NEU. International students are a big part of the applicant pool, and the reputations of the school carry a lot of weight when they hear from their friends/family who have experienced school in Boston.

This doesn't make sense, it's harder to get into NEU than all of those colleges, literally lol.
