She had already said a lot of things on tape and some of it had been aired in snippets on previous days.

Why not just wait a few days until August, as the committee had previously planned?

Threats as PP said but also, you seem to be the only one saying this. Seems like the majority of the rest of the US was kind of rocked by the explosions from this testimony. That was the reaction I was seeing from multiple media sources last night, many of which have been pretty even keeled about the rest of the hearings. So you are on an island, sir or madam.

Just because someone is the only one saying something doesn't mean they are on an island. It could mean that they had an unusual insight that bears consideration.

Certainly the committee knows why they called a special session, but nothing was said about the reason for it.

Whole thing looks like a joke now

No, dear, she absolutely does not look like a joke.

Is this really going to be your defense of trump? That’s just sad.

Give people a little extra reason to celebrate American values, like peaceful transition of power, over the Fourth of July. Except for Flynn. He'll be taking the Fifth on the Fourth.

Threats. Now that she’s testified the mob has less power.

Are you suggesting that she was getting threats from the mob (whoever that is) before she testified?

Are you suggesting she was not? Did you see the evidence of witness tampering at the very end of the hearing?

More about the fact, the majority of Americans just don’t care.

https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/3528682-american-apathy-weak-ratings-for-jan-6-hearings-reveal-voter-priorities/amp/

Instead, what we’re seeing is just more political theater at a time when Americans are concerned about more important things: 40-year-high inflation, record-high gas prices, skyrocketing crime, a porous border bringing in millions of illegal immigrants and record numbers dying of fentanyl. And a war in Ukraine that isn’t ending anytime soon.

There’s a “been there, done that” feel to all of this. Donald Trump was already impeached over his rhetoric that helped fuel the Capitol riot 17 months ago. More importantly, unlike President Nixon during the Watergate hearings nearly 50 years ago, which 71 percent of the country tuned in for, Trump is no longer in office.

Most of the people here breathlessly commenting on every aspect of the Kangaroo Kourt just do no represent the majority of the American people.

I disagree. I think EVERYONE is talking about it. DCUM isn't some microcosm.

That opinion writer is quite the contortionist.

New polls say that most Americans believe that Trump illegally tried to extend his stay in office and a majority believe that he should be charged for it.

Whether people are watching the hearings, in one form or another, or just hearing or reading about them, they're working.

And all these polls were bef Hutchison.

ROFL. That article was written on 6/19/2022. The GOP is scrambling for talking points.

No one in my extended circle is discussing it. Nothing about yesterday changed it. In fact, most did not see it.

Trump said the same thing, yet published 20 messages related to a hearing he did not see and a witness he does not know.

You polled your extended social circle to see if they watched or read about yesterday’s testimony?

Just because they’re not talking about it on Facebook doesn’t mean they’re not paying attention.

You are right. DCUM isn't some microcosm. It is a far left bubble.

I think you don't know the meaning of microcosm.

Everyone ISN'T talking about this. They are working on taking care of their families with far less money in their pockets.
And, trying to keep them safe.

And that is why trump supporters hang on - the refuse to even look at the evidence. It’s sad but understandable from a psychological perspective: their self-worth and identity were wrapped up
In trumpian concepts and they do have egos strong enough to admit they were wrong (or worse, conned).

And the truth is - the whole world is watching. That is not in dispute.
