What was such an emergency about Hutchinson's testimony that it had to be rushed for a special session?

She had already said a lot of things on tape and some of it had been aired in snippets on previous days.

Why not just wait a few days until August, as the committee had previously planned?

Threats as PP said but also, you seem to be the only one saying this. Seems like the majority of the rest of the US was kind of rocked by the explosions from this testimony. That was the reaction I was seeing from multiple media sources last night, many of which have been pretty even keeled about the rest of the hearings. So you are on an island, sir or madam.
