Canada Truck Convoy, what to think about it?

There were people on Tienanamen square too, no? They were opposed to what the government was doing, are hailed as martyrs.
Please explain the difference to me, I am not so smart.
If you say, use force to get rid of these miscreants that are sitting in their trucks, how is that ok, but rolling tanks over people in China is not ok?

Yes, you are right. You are not that smart.

The trucks are blocking a major transit route for starters. Next, they have the right to protest in many other ways. The Chinese were doing something that would not be a problem here. They do not have the freedom to do lots of things. We do. Many of the Chinese were jailed and never heard from again. That's not the same as our government clearing out a roadway and sending people home. Not even close.

As I understand it, the Canadian rule went into effect on Jan 15 and the US rule went into effect Jan 22. But the US rule does not apply to US citizens, not sure if the same holds for the Canada rule.

I'm not clear whether these truckers have or have not refused the vaccine. I know the Canada Trucker's association opposes the blocka

I also read that for the US, they have no concerns about the southern border, as Mexican truckers have an even higher rate of vaccination.

I found out last night my son, who is vaccinated and boosted by choice (and has avoided bars and restaurants since March 2020) disagrees with mandated vaccination.

Just because a conversation is awkward, that does not mean it can't be calm and thoughtful. It's actually more likely to be calm and thoughtful. Hence, the awkwardness. YMMV.

Hey, Bozo defending the trucker who hit the cyclist. By your logic truckers who are trying to get through to do their jobs should just nudge their way forward until they get through. The people and their vehicles shouldn't be in the way.

The trucker was the bigger ass. And he deservedly got fired. Good luck getting a new job driving trucks when you've got intentionally running into pedestrians on your record.
