Lots of errors in people’s pay checks. Unacceptable. |
The bigger problem is that this is not the first management problem on his watch. He needs to hire a stronger chief of staff because management is not his jam. |
This Not to mention the cost of giving everyone the option of a day off. Even if not everyone takes it and not everyone needs a sub it is still $ |
The coat of that?! He gave the entire central office staff an extra THREE weeks off, permanently. $$$$$ |
And they have these extra three weeks off, and the new keys don’t work, the paychecks are a mess, the health care fair sucks…. |
Oh yeah- licensure is a mess. They can’t process new hires in a timely manner. |
100% |
Isn’t licensure under VDOE? |
Not all of it. Sometimes universities need to contact HR. A colleague is about to fail a course needed for recertification because the university has not been able to get a response from HR. |
Why is APS HR so bad? Is it that hard to hire competent HR staff? |
|
And teachers submit their recertification materials to APS, which then forwards them to VDOE. The person who handles recert is not in HR and is also quite competent and organized, IME. I imagine the new hires-related licensure issues are happening within HR. |
He has a whole freaking “cabinet.” |
He needs to fire some of them and hire better people. Every week is like clean up on aisle 1. If school board won’t hold him accountable then he needs better people in place before the next big eff up. |
Management is literally his job. He’s not teaching, he’s not processing payroll. If he can’t manage, he’s worthless. Listen, not everyone is equipped to run a hundred million dollar enterprise. Some people get stuck in the “equity and inclusion” ghetto because it’s really all they can do. I wish we took a hard look at this guy before re-upping him for another term. Now it’s going to cost us a fortune to get rid of him when we could have just sent him in his way. |
