| Does anyone know how the notify for EA? Mail letters on 12/15? |
| Last year they mailed letters. I think my DD got hers around the end of December. She loves it there. Good luck! |
| In my day it was also mail and we knew by early January....however, I guess there weren't any other options 24 years ago. LOL |
| Seems like a place that could be a future status institution the location vibe and a highly educated state should be a catalyst. |
|
Our DC applied early. Our neighborhood of 200 or so houses has sent someone to SMCM every year for as long as we can remember. Every one has loved it.
Having said that, SMCM will never be a status institution. Our child wants to go there specifically because it is in the middle of nowhere and because what is happening in class is less likely to be made to seem trivial by what is going on over in DC. |
OP here...I hope our kids meet there. Mine also loves the campus and its remote location. |
| If anyone goes to any college for status or goes after status things in life, they are never going to be happy in life. |
God, I hope not. |
| Check out the instagram of smcm sunrises and sunsets - Beautiful! I'm jealous of how good the students have it there. |
+1, that would completely and utterly ruin it. In fact, anyone who says things like "future status institution" should have their bloodline banned from attending, for perpetuity. |
Don't worry. EVERYBODY gets in there. |
| What a sad person you are. |
Well your comment will make me feel really good if my child does not! |
| As a side question, is there a shuttle or other bus service that runs between the college and cities like DC, Baltimore or similar? I found on the college website a link to a transportation page, but it didnt work |
| My best friend's DD goes there. She loves it. She's a swimmer and they have a great team. It has a laid-back vibe, but is excellent academically. I'm keeping an eye on it for my DD in a few years. We went there for a swim meet, and I couldn't believe how beautiful the campus was. Her DD turned down some NESCAC schools and a "lesser" Ivy to go there because they gave her a huge scholarship. I don't think everyone gets in, as a PP said. I know some kids in our school who got turned down. They were not great students. They got in to Washington College, though. |
