Both William and Harry married some social climbers to be honest who thought like commoners do that being a princess would be just fabulous. No woman from the old money aristocracy circles who actually attend these royal events since childhood wanted to bother with marrying into the royal family and getting raked over the coals by the press. They know that being Queen is a headache with lots of stupid duties and that the real privilege is being royally rich without the headache or publicity

DP. I think pp’s problem is that the fawning pp doesn’t actually know Kate and has only consumed the puff pieces put out by the Daily Mail and its ilk. The phrasing was a bit cringe too.

How do you even presume to have any idea what she’s “going through” or that it’s “a lot”? It could be an event of her own creation, it could be something she wanted, and she may even be happy about it behind closed doors. To her, it may not be “a lot”. You have no idea.

Another DP here. I presume those things because I believe in news and reality and am not a conspiracy theorist, generally speaking. Anything is theoretically possible--we might be living in a simulation, the Moon landing could have been faked, etc.--but small theoretically possibilities don't crowd out what we can generally agree is fact.

But the only news we have is puff pieces in the Daily Mail about what Kate wore to cut which ribbon last year, a simple statement in January, and a heavily doctored picture masquerading as news about her health/location/having the kids nearby.

You can't know anything as fact, or presume anything at all. One camp here presumes the Kate puff pieces are true. Another camp here wonders about the massive photoshop screwup and where William has been. Nobody knows, that's the entire point.

A statement about someone undergoing an abdominal surgery requiring a two-week hospital stay and extensive recovery time isn’t a puff piece. So I feel completely comfortable saying she’s going through a lot right now. I don’t think that means people can’t speculate about what is going on more precisely , but to say that we don’t know that she’s going through a lot right now is saying that the palace could be lying about having surgery. That’s bordering on conspiracy theorism.

You don't get it. People accepted that statement until KP released that awful photo and until William disappeared from his duties.

They undercut their own story by creating mystery around it. If people can't trust KP to release an authentic photo, why should they trust KP on other things?

Is your trust really broken? What things did you used to trust them on and now can't?

No, they wouldn’t announce a birthday pic with just Louis. They obviously meant a family photo or one with just Kate and the kids. Who knows? 5 year olds grow like weeds too so people will compare the pics taken a month apart and will know whether the Mothers Day photo was taken in the fall or not.

Also, people will look to see if the wedding ring is on the finger.

It seems like too much drama releasing a picture again but KP is obviously at wits end here and winging this while they figure out how to bring Kate back to the Palace

I do not believe she photoshopped the photo herself and I do not believe she wrote or issued the apology on her own (and may not even have been involved in either event at all).
