She’s been nothing but dutiful and lovely to everyone she encounters. I hope she knows so many people absolutely adore her.

The PP simply said something kind about KM. Why are you so nasty?

DP. I think pp’s problem is that the fawning pp doesn’t actually know Kate and has only consumed the puff pieces put out by the Daily Mail and its ilk. The phrasing was a bit cringe too.

DP. Oh, please. There was no “fawning,” merely kind words for someone who is going through a lot. This thread full of ridiculous disaster scenarios is what’s “cringe”.

How do you even presume to have any idea what she’s “going through” or that it’s “a lot”? It could be an event of her own creation, it could be something she wanted, and she may even be happy about it behind closed doors. To her, it may not be “a lot”. You have no idea.

Another DP here. I presume those things because I believe in news and reality and am not a conspiracy theorist, generally speaking. Anything is theoretically possible--we might be living in a simulation, the Moon landing could have been faked, etc.--but small theoretically possibilities don't crowd out what we can generally agree is fact.

But the only news we have is puff pieces in the Daily Mail about what Kate wore to cut which ribbon last year, a simple statement in January, and a heavily doctored picture masquerading as news about her health/location/having the kids nearby.

You can't know anything as fact, or presume anything at all. One camp here presumes the Kate puff pieces are true. Another camp here wonders about the massive photoshop screwup and where William has been. Nobody knows, that's the entire point.

A statement about someone undergoing an abdominal surgery requiring a two-week hospital stay and extensive recovery time isn’t a puff piece. So I feel completely comfortable saying she’s going through a lot right now. I don’t think that means people can’t speculate about what is going on more precisely , but to say that we don’t know that she’s going through a lot right now is saying that the palace could be lying about having surgery. That’s bordering on conspiracy theorism.

You don't get it. People accepted that statement until KP released that awful photo and until William disappeared from his duties.

They undercut their own story by creating mystery around it. If people can't trust KP to release an authentic photo, why should they trust KP on other things?

Is your trust really broken? What things did you used to trust them on and now can't?

Literally everything.

No, I get it, but it's one thing to say that the palace is less than forthcoming (I don't buy their photoshop explanation) and an entirely different thing to say that they made up something as serious as a major health issue. That would be a *massive* lie. There is a difference between seriously stretching the truth and outright making s**t up.

That photo will be dissected more than any photo in history . They will probably hire expert photoshoppers and make sure this picture passes the photo agencies’ legitimacy tests.

Why would they just not appear somewhere or do a video for Louis birthday? Why a picture?

They'll probably release a picture of just Louis, which is fine. No need to put others in that picture.

I was thinking a picture of her kissing his cheek so she can keep her face mostly obscured.

I have the same question PP does: why release a photo at all at this point in time? Do they really have to do that?

No, they wouldn’t announce a birthday pic with just Louis. They obviously meant a family photo or one with just Kate and the kids. Who knows? 5 year olds grow like weeds too so people will compare the pics taken a month apart and will know whether the Mothers Day photo was taken in the fall or not.

Also, people will look to see if the wedding ring is on the finger.

It seems like too much drama releasing a picture again but KP is obviously at wits end here and winging this while they figure out how to bring Kate back to the Palace

I don't think even the divorce posters are saying she didn't also have a health issue.

The dead silence at KP is indicative of William living alone. Usually, cars are often driving in and out taking the kids to school, activities, to see the Middleton grandparents, and back home.

Past bday photos are just of the child. Doubt that will change at all. So, that tradition is continuing, not "at wits end" or "winging" just what they have done before.

This seems reasonable.

Unlikely any change until after her kids return to school mid-April.

The BBC announcement is likely re: Charles.

When Catherine re-emerges in mid-April or later, should be a new thread. This one has really run its course.

Kate has lied about health before. In 2009, she said she was allergic to horses . Embarrassed she was of her commoner roots and not being an equestrian .

In 2021, she could suddenly ride horses with William and the kids. The allergy “went away”. (She got lessons)

Allergies do go away. It happened to myself and my dad with cat allergies. Not saying Kate can't lie but using this as a gotcha is a big stretch.

Good for her. I used to say I was allergic to chlorine because I was embarrassed to get in the pool.
