Kate's New Picture

Kate wasn’t hovering over Adobe Photoshop to edit a picture and then Tweet an apology.

Signing off as C could only come from the top. The future king’s word is law and his orders must be followed. Throwing C under the bus was lowdown

I do not believe she photoshopped the photo herself and I do not believe she wrote or issued the apology on her own (and may not even have been involved in either event at all).

A good husband would cover for his wife even if she did lie. That’s not what William did . He should’ve taken the blame as he had to sign off on posting and photoshopping the picture and his staff edited it

Is there a theory that BP specifically Camilla is behind all the recent KP PR disasters? Like maybe some staff in KP are traitors and working for Camilla behind KP PR team?

My sense is that she and William ARE trying to handle this a lot on their own, and that she did edit (maybe with 'help') the pic and then issued the apology from herself. It seems they are really trying to close a tight circle - including keeping staff out - as she deals with this medical issue, which she apparently is feeling personal about. She is not Queen yet so this is her last chance to do such a thing, most likely.

I think their marriage is fine. I wouldn't be surprised if she came out and talked about this situation when she is feeling mentally and physically better.

The photo was saved in Photoshop two different times, once on Friday night and again on Saturday morning. (There's a link in the tl;dr thread.) Maybe she started the edits and someone else either cleaned them up (sort of) or went a lot further.

But I'm in the camp that thinks she wasn't hovering over Photoshop at all.

+1. People sometimes have post op depression, and just need time to grapple with their reality before they talk about it beyond their immediate circle.

A lot of people think that Kate doing the photoshopping and writing the apology is the most likely scenario. I don’t but yeah many do.

I will not venture a guess as to whether or not this is true, but IF it is true, it's really, really dumb. They are paying professionals a not-insignficiant amount of money to manage their public relations, specifically because for people this high profile, doing it yourself is overwhelming, often hurtful, and enormously time consuming. Not least because a non-professional (with zero objectivity because they are doing their own press) is prone to making mistakes that will only require more time and energy to fix.

Like if you the Prince and Princess of Wales, and you really value your privacy plus have a major personal matter that you need to focus on, then you pull in your trusted advisors (all of whom have signed NDAs and been heavily vetted to be in your inner circle) and tell them "this is what's going on, we want to not have to worry about the press, please handle it." And then they handle it and let you know what they might need from you, but also if they say "we need xyz" and you say "z is out of the question" then they are paid a handsome sum to figure out something else.

You don't go rogue and start trying to handle your own social media accounts. It's such a massive rookie mistake and frankly beneath people who have been in the public eye for this long at this level.

And a lot of people don't believe Kate did any of it and was straight thrown under the bus.

-1. I can see William going rogue. He strikes me as the type to think he is smarter than he is and who would ignore advice of professionals.

I can’t imagine someone going rogue and editing an unreleased image as in depth as they did.

Consider if you were an employee/staffer, what would the instruction have been? Edit this to look like it’s taken this morning? Edit this to look like they never wore these color tops and bottoms before? Edit this and remove Charlotte’s bracelet and change the colors of everyone’s tops and outfits?

Because the photo was never released, no one would have noticed the outfits were from November nor the bracelet if they hadn’t tried to pass it off as a current photo.

Exactly. Of course they want her to get divorced but unfortunately for them that doesn’t seem to be the case.
