Only because the offer athletic scholarships |
Hoyas have been opening up the checkbook for football and baseball players, not so much for lacrosse.
Their swimming is elite because of the international boarders, primarily the Asians. |
Oh, boy! There are, of course, no athletic scholarships in any of the private schools. There is, of course, Financial Aid. And it's highly likely that athletes at all these schools get better FA packages than they would have if they were not so highly prized for their athletic ability. This favoritism started when these kids were identified, recruited and admitted over more academically qualified applicants. THEY ALL DO IT! Parents on the losing side of games are always going to search for reasons. (They recruit! They have more students! Their players are older!, etc. etc) The idea is that other team somehow has advantages that are illegal, immoral and/or unethical (Or if they are not, they ought to be!) |
This is the dumbest post I’ve read. Prep’s best swimmers are not Asian. They’re from Gaithersburg and Rockville. |
bullshit!
are you the same person that continues to hide when opposing schools call out Prep when their boarding students tend to be the best athletes at the school. is the lineman committed to Oregon a boarding student? how bout the 7 foot center from China, what Parish school did he attend? |
Prep does not dominate lacrosse. Last I checked they had a losing record, got dominated by Bullis and Landon, and lost to nobody St. Christopher’s |
But good hire. No one will argue that. |
Great hire by prep. Landon and Bullis bettter get their ducks in order. |
Landon will be fine. Top of conference until they aren't. For anyone that pays attention, rarely, would a first year coach come in and knock of an established team like Landon immediately. Will take time. Not saying it can't happen but trying to keep it in perspective.
Bullis lost their entire 25 roster, and frankly that team wildly underperformed the last three years, based on their talent. They have also lost underclassmen over the summer. They will not be strong unless something drastic changes because that program no longer recruits lax players. There is a big chasm at the school between lax team and rest of teams/school. Documented issues last couple of seasons. Not sure how they've let it get this bad. Hilgy is very talented coach and the hire commands respect. However, he did not rule the MIAA and as someone else pointed out. Team 91 became a great pipeline to him at McD. He won't have that immediately at Prep. Give him 4-5 seasons. Which is much too long than most lax parents are willing to give. Amazing that last Prep coach was given such a short leash imo. |
Name one collegiate swimmer from Asia graduated from Georgetown Prep. I'll wait. |
It started out "the post you are reaponding to", genius. He was agreeing with you. |
Landon will struggle bigly next year. No fogo and no goalie. Bullis will struggle too. If they couldn't win the title with last year's roster, it's not gonna happen this year. GP will jump all the way the to the top making Hilgy look like Danowski. He has an Army fogo and now a seasoned goalie who took his lumps last year and probably the best attack in the region. STA might actually challenge for 3rd. SSSAS and EP will fight it out for dead last. |
Prep wins every offseason. |
Typically true in these threads but it might happen this way in the IAC this year. Not sure who has the roster to beat them in the IAC. Lots of teams have the roster to beat them and every other team in the IAC regionally. |
Yeah Prep is the best. Til they get doubled up in league play |
