Those decisions happened weeks ago...if NVA decided to sell out their girls to get their boys to Next, they will be the only one in the region to have done so and there are plenty of other local clubs for their girls to flock to.

False!

NVA is the only club who make sense in nova to get mls next based on location and NVA knows ECNL will be old news soon.

If by soon you mean 2-3 years -- sure anything is possible. If you mean int he next year or so -- no not a chance.

You would be wrong. How many ECNL RL teams are promoted to ECNL National based on annual performance? None.

Despite girls driving most of the discussion on this board, boys is the priority at these clubs because there are more players ($$). MLSNext is huge to any clubs that can get it and a little thing like losing a girls ECNL badge will not stop them

But MLSNext Tier 2? Cause that’s what McLean is looking at. Not Tier 1. Once again it’s all about the boys and who cares what happens to the boys. SMH.

But ECNL has nothing to blame but itself if everyone jumps ship to MLS Next / GA. They flew too close to the sun and got power hungry and greedy. Handed out too many ECNL badges in the DMV and then wondered why the talent decreased. And then forced mergers to try to make up for it.

Not everyone is going to jump ship. Only clubs that can get MLSN tier 1 which is still very selective

There is plenty of room to grow for MLSN in this area. Only 4 clubs currently in DMV, same as Missouri. For comparison, there are 9 clubs in NY, 7 in NJ, 5 in PA.

I prefer MLSNext relative exclusivity. No need for another DC area team.

let em cook

Uhm no. the ECNL badge is still very much right at the top of their player pathway pyramid on their website.

It’s busted up like the FDA food pyramid.

McLean is an absolute dumpster fire. 5 years ago they had it all. What the heck happened? I mean, I’m kinda glad. Parents there are almost as obnoxious as Vienna parents.

The names of those teams, please.

Perhaps you mean they said ‘no’ to applying.

Mclean realized the errors of the last five years. If true this move is trying to correct all that.

Not that the current leadership has been on fire, as they can’t seem to get anything right, but once Arlington was admitted into ECNL, McLean’s end was near.

And if these clubs get MLSN without the girls side switching, any and all of this speculation is meaningless. Also makes the 'partnership' between MLSN and GA meaningless.

MLS NEXT is announcing the Tier 1 and 2 clubs sometime late Feb or early March, same as always. Right after that, NVA's definitely gonna announce they're GA, MLS, and MLS2. They're going by the MLS NEXT timeline, not GA's. But yeah, it's a done deal! Awesome for Loudoun and the whole county!

NVA has time and again had the opportunity to prove itself and generally has failed to do so. Wishful thinking doesn't get you anywhere.

It's dumb to go to GA for MLS next. For most clubs, there's no difference between MlS next and ECNL. Some of the best ECNL teams can hang with MLS next teams. Also, the number of boys getting recruited from MLS next isn't any different than ECNL.

I don’t understand. How does this change anything for Loudoun county? Do the kids just magically become better with the new badge?
