“He is garbling even 10th word”. Oh the irony.

Probably one of the aforementioned foreign trolls without a firm grasp of English. I understood Joe's speech perfectly.

Me too!

Oh yes, you've found your talking point that will get traction. Run with it

The talking point is ignoring it. It was a great speech and apparently swayed some people who watched it. Fortunately for Republicans, the ratings are not great and most people watching already pay attention enough to have decided on who they are voting for.

It’s not a talking point. I enjoyed Bidens speech and agreed with all his points . I just think the Ukraine part shouldn’t have been first. The Economy should always be first . There are Americans who only tune in to the beginning or end of a speech so how one starts and concludes is important

+1

Feisty and sharp.

Surprised the heck out of me.

I think he was noting Joe's claim that lots of construction positions will be available for American workers - and yet, we have millions of illegal immigrants here taking those jobs.
is there proof of iLleAgaLs taking these jobs or are you just spouting FOX talking points?

I was on the fence about voting for Biden but his speech last night convinced me that he needs to go.

Ukraine is an existential threat to the western world, right now. There is a bill on the table that is being held by the GOP to benefit Russia. I respectfully disagree.

Democrats = Socialism
Republicans = Free Markets

It amazes me this debate is even happening.

So you prefer Project2025 be fully implemented and for women to become shackled chattel once again.

Do you understand how much corporate welfare is built into our federal budget? Between the beltway bandits and agribusiness, more money goes to support private enterprise than to any individuals in the form of SNAP or other social programs. So if you really want to get to free markets, then end all of those subsidies.

Also, enjoy paving your own road, pumping your own water, and manufacturing your own drugs, and don't worry about what is IN the water or the air you breath, the free markets will ensure it is all clean and healthy for you.

Rambling, incoherent and dark. It shows he lost it.

He should have let with the economy, fentanyl crisis and the fact people are struggling. Instead it was about funding his war lobbyist buddies.

So I understand why maybe we should be involved, but right now there is other issues we should be dealing with.

War against Russia isn't the only war we're going to be engaged in...Biden admitted boots on the ground in Gaza, and who knows where else. We don't need to be in more wars, we need to fix the border, help with the health and education systems here in our country and people need to be brought to the table with talks of peace.

We're close to nuclear war more than any other time in history, Biden is reckless and he needs to be ousted.

Great speech!
I was worried, but am surprised how sharp and energetic he seemed.
I was thinking of voting for a third party, or writing in, but not anymore.
Biden has earned my vote.

Instead we got an angry, sometimes inarticulate old man who was divisive and arrogant.

This is what came to mind after just 5 minutes into his speech:

[…]

Your spin isn’t going to work. You’re probably feeling a little wounded this morning after Biden showed you for the fool you are.

Nah.
I wasn't impressed. He fired up his base, for sure.
But, did he convince the undecided? Probably not.
He threatened the Supreme Court. He took zero responsibility for the border crisis he caused. He was angry and divisive. Instead of an "I feel your pain" speech, he cast blame and didn't acknowledge that the American people are not thriving under his administration.
He ran the first time on bringing civility and decorum back to the WH. He said he was a uniter.
He has done none of that. And, last night he doubled down on hate. He was neither civil nor uniting. The US and the world are in a worse place than when he took office.
Voters who want unity were not impressed.

The good thing is that the Democrats will be less likely to want to replace him at the convention after last night.
That is good for Trump.

The only hate I saw last night was from MTG.

And I don't see anyone in the GOP attempting to unite anyone. Unless you count uniting women against anti-choice ballot initiatives.

MTG used an anti immigrant slur and called someone “an illegal” last night? I swore that was Biden.

what slur was used?

Really? Can you name some specific proposals of how the Democrats want to nationalize private industry?

The GOP is withholding money that would allow border agents to actually screen for Fentanyl at the border.
The GOP refused to pass legislation to deal with the border.
The GOP has no plan for healthcare other than to repeal the ACA.
The GOP has no plan to improve the education system other than to gut public education and give money to private religious schools.

Peace happens when Russia is not occupying Ukraine.
Peace happens when Hamas returns the hostages.

I don't think you understand either foreign policy or domestic policy on any level and certainly can't articulate the GOP plan for ANY of the concerns you express.
