NYC mayor declares 'emergency' due to migrants

because a bunch were dumped on them by another state who had no authority to do that. Those governors lied to the people and were basically human traffickers for a political stunt.

But weren’t those unlawful immigrants dumped in those other states by a federal govt that isn’t enforcing security at the border because doing so is unpopular with the political class in those states now doing the complaining?

So you think small, under resourced towns in rural Texas should absorb the massive costs of dealing with a huge influx of people who shouldn’t be here, but draw the line when a few hundred show up in NYC?

Seriously- how do you defend that?

I'm not defending anything, but last I checked TX, FL, and NY are part of the US, and the federal government has the authority to deal with illegal immigrants, not a governor who is looking to score political points and looking to run for POTUS in two years.

Also, Desantis had ZERO authority to ship illegal immigrants from TX, a state he has ZERO jurisdiction in. So again, he's basically a human trafficker. We should put him in prison.

Yes, the federal government has the authority.... but when the federal government shirks that authority, the states most heavily impacted need to take action.

And, are you equally as outraged about the mayor of El Paso (D) busing migrants to NYC?

DeSantis should be awarded a medal for what he did. The Democrats are FINALLY talking about the crisis at the border. That is a miracle.

Exactly! Thrilled this is happening.

The Dem nutcases will listen up only when it happens in their backyard.

I bumped this thread to ask the following which I fear got lost on the bottom of the last page:

Has the NYC problem finally subsided? Have more migrants started moving out to neighboring areas or returning home? It’s about to get cold real soon. Where are NYC’s long-term homeless people now?

Probably there are now buses to California

I get that they're inept on the border. Criticize away.

Get how does this silly post help people understand the border crisis.

Are you really that naive to think that anyone is going to return home? Even people who were officially deported 3-5 times are coming back non-stop.

We need to get our borders under control. I am liberal but it should be okay to say that. Our country has major problems with poverty and homelessness and we need to get these things under control before we take on others. NYC schools can't take on the added refugees and migrants.

They are coming back non-stop to NYC? I think winter in NTC is going going to get real interesting. I’ve heard that migrants have 60 days to find housing before they are evicted from their city-provided shelters. That would be a deterrent for me going to NYC without having secured housing or a job there.

Mr. Biden:

BUILD THAT WALL!

why? CA shares a border with MX and has a ton of illegal immigrants. Rs are busing these people to states that don't share a border with MX.

7000 more possible new residents for NYC!!! What a joke Biden is. How can any Democrat support this border policy?

Also 600,000 got aways.

Yes, 600,000 people who enters illegally. This did not apply for asylum. We do not know who they are or where they are? What could go wrong?

Your answer... no, it has not subsided.
The mayor is offering migrants a one-way ticket anywhere as long as they leave NY:

There is one industry that is getting a bit of a boost due to the migrant crisis.... prostitution.

Mayor Eric Adams has blamed the rise in prostitution in Corona, Queens, on an influx of female Venezuelan migrants who are struggling to find other work.

The Democrat said Tuesday that “illegal” activity is taking place in the area and that it is just “one example” of how the nation’s migrant crisis is affecting the city.

It is unclear whether these Venezuelan migrants are being sex-trafficked to perform these acts or if they are soliciting sex of their own free will.

Because it’s warm there and because not everyone comes through CA
They can always welcome a bit more!

It's not Republicans doing most of the busing. That is the Biden administration. And, also the Democratic mayor of El Paso.
And, the migrants are sent to the city of their choice. When Abbott or DeSantis has bused or flown migrants somewhere, it was because that is where the migrants want to go.
Just think.... you can enter the country illegally, be welcomed by the Biden administration with lovely gifts, gift cards, and other things, then be sent to the city of your choice free of charge.
And, you wonder why people come?

what news are you reading? Do you think those people wanted to go to Martha's Vineyard? WTF. How dumb are you to think this.

And, how dumb are you to think you get "lovely" things as an illegal immigrant. If you think they get such great things, renounce your US citizenship, go to MX and cross the border.

It's warm in FL, too, and NC, and TX, and SC, and AL, and GA and AZ.

Oh, right, this is about sticking it to the libs.
