I think it's nice that we don't know. We don't have to anything about him and his feelings anymore. |
Ornato, at least, is still employed by the Secret Service. I don't think he's going to lie under oath. I'll wait until more information from actual people comes out - not from "a source close to the Secret Service." I can't believe the amount of people that have lost all ability to use critical thinking here. I actually heard WTOP characterize that as "the Secret Service pushing back." WHAT? No. |
Well it’s more about wondering how many more ways he might have incriminated himself today. I don’t care about his feelings ![]() |
The actual important thing is that Trump knew there were weapons and violent people there that day and he didn’t care. He wanted to get Pence and a few other people killed and to prevent them from certifying the election. That’s the important thing. |
If the entire apparatus of the USSS begins pushing back against everything we know, we’re really going to have to address the right wing infiltration of our government. |
Correct, there is a fleet of Presidential vehicles that get called that. Just like there is a fleet of Presidential helicopters that get called "Marine One" - it's not just one. |
My point is that the USSS HASN'T pushed back. They released a statement that said almost nothing - we've cooperated, we'll continue cooperating, and we'll address anything new. The only "pushback" if from an anonymous source reported by CBS News. It's astounding the conclusions that have been jumped to. |
To recap:
Trump knew large numbers of people in the crowd were armed—or auto told Meadows and Hutchinson. Trump wanted the armed crowd to move toward the Capitol and “stop the steal”. The VP and the Speaker were at the Capitol. Trump knew there were threats against the VP and didn’t ask supporters to be peaceful and stay away from the Capitol—he encouraged them to go there and fight, naming the VP as someone who didn’t do what needed to be done to stop the election. The violent crowd within 40 ft of the VP. If he had been killed, I would say Trump could be tried for felony murder. Luckily the VP wasn’t killed. It was “just” a failed coup. |

One thing surprises me is that she calls them by their first name. I would have thought it was more formal in The WH. |
It isn’t at all. |
Nope, especially not that one |
No. Times have changed since The West Wing. |
