co-worker leaving work 15-25 minutes early

Anonymous
If one leaves work about 15-25 minutes early would you make a note to tell the manager? Supposedly he arrived at 7:04 therefore he deported at 3:36... He says he worked "8 hours" but I am not sure would you do something or no?

OMG. Are you for real?

I would mind my own business. Nothing to do with you.

Does it affect you in anyway?

If you are that focused on others, you're not busy enough.

Why would you say anything?

So what would you say?

"Co-worker said he came in at 7 so he left at 330. I don't believe him. "

"Oh, do you have any evidence that he didn't come in early?"

"no, I just don't believe him".

I guarantee you won't come out looking good in this situation

What?

That's 8 hrs and 32 min, so what's your point? Also, you need to mind your own business and do your own work. Thirdly, your boss will think you're nuts.

Yes. Say something to your boss, then report back.

I'd go around your boss. Talk to your boss ' boss about it. Don't tel your boss you are doing that in case he/she is hiding this person stealing time from the company. I'd also email HR and cc your boss' boss.

Get a clipboard. Start tracking everyones time. Make sure they know you are doing it. Ask them when they got in. If they don't tell you tell them they are required to by law under The Federal Time Permission Statute. Send weekly reports on those cheating the system to HR.

Then report back.

Is it impacting you?

If this person is leaving early, and it means you can't do your job, or that you need to take over for her, or that's there's a safety issue because you're understaffed, or something like that, then I would bring it to their attention. Otherwise, I'd stay out of it.

Clipboard for sure! Great advice, PP. Also volunteer for to start a hall monitoring committee.

Are you my coworker? I have left about 25 minutes early every day for a month because of a childcare issue. You know what? Our boss knows and doesn't care. My work gets done.

I honestly hope you get fired OP lmao. Hate people like you that are so petty over something so small. Best of luck to you in life, sounds like you’ll need it.
