| Meme guy returns. I think this is like the 10th time we've seen Sponge Bob -- who's cool -- but damn this is old. |
pretty quickly 3 posters called out your BS it makes no sense that a random parent expects all of youth soccer to implement new rules that cause a bunch of problems just to benefit them the powers that be spent about two years getting from calendar year to seasonal year they are not going to fix problems that people do not have before seasonal year even started you having to have your personal rule indicates that you are only fighting for yourself and not what is fair to others |
It's his version of a smoker stomping on their cig butt and exhaling when they lost the battle and are quiting because they just want to cry about losing. |
Its all you rage posting when you know reality guy is right. |
The reality is leagues said age groups are 8/1 - 7/31 and didn't make grades any part of the rules. The other reality is that leagues and all of the clubs in the DC area said they want to limit playing up, allowing it for the only best. Your future fake reality is nothing more than incorrect biased guesses without evidence to support your position other than a trust me bro, I'm old so I know everything. |
People are going to have a harsh reality when their kid isnt permitted to play up. Also, parents don’t realize the level of play is increasing thus making it that much harder. A reality check is coming for a lot of people. |
This is the 10th time he's accused others of rage posting. I think he's wrong about that, because it's multiple people contradicting him. |
100% |
Bla bla bla.. Asking for players grade in school and rostering Aug players on their grade in school team is 100% OK for clubs to do and doesn't break any rules. You just dont like reality. |
You have to read closer, I didn't say it breaks any rules. It's just playing up and following grades is against what leagues and clubs in the DC area said they want. That's the reality. |
Especially when clubs are doing everything they can to get Aug-Dec down an age group to where they can thrive for the club. Every club I have dealt with punishes parents and players eventually when they ask for special favors like playing up. Playing up tends to get kids the bench. |
Hahaha nobody cares what you want Clubs will act in their best intersts which means Aug birthdays will play up just like thet used to before 2017. |
Again, you have to read closer. I don't want anything. Leagues and clubs in the DC area said they want players in their age groups and playing up is only for the select best, grades don't matter. |
Like in a top Kansas, a club around since 1977 ... What did they say about this? From page 15 of their presentation: "School Grade is Irrelevant: It is much easier to consider the new age-group placement as relative to the August 1st cutoff and is not tied to their school grade level (whether they have been held back or are ahead)." Page 19 "Can players play up a grade level? SURVEY - Playing Up SBV will retain the same policy we’ve always had: A player may play up an age group only if they make the top team in that older division. ❖ Exceptions: Exceptions are rare and reserved for specific Goalkeeper situations or to combine two small player pools to form a viable team. Why we aren't delaying the changes: ❖ We have chosen to "rip the Band-Aid off" rather than kick the can down the road. ❖ While we could artificially keep current teams together by moving everyone to an older age group, we would eventually be forced to fix it. ❖ We believe it is better to realign correctly now. This avoids years of confusion and temporary fixes, ensuring every player is on the correct long-term development path immediately" https://storage.googleapis.com/msgsndr/YNEbnN...173966b1e3b3b9c2.pdf |

USYS set the date range as August 1 - July 31 in order to account for the majority of school cut off dates across the country and to best align players with their grade level peers. The majority of our players attend schools with September 1 cut off dates so in order to best align our players with their accurate grade level, we will be using an August 1 + actual grade year approach. This change will not impact the Spring 2026 season and our current travel teams will remain as they were in Fall 2025. This change will begin for the Fall 2026 season such that this year's Competitive Academy tryouts will run by August 1 + grade year. Example 1 - August 15, 2015 birthday and going into 6th grade - plays with 6th grade team (U12). Example 2 - August 15, 2015 birthday and going into 5th grade (held back in terms of grade year) - plays with 5th grade team (U11). This is a significant shift that will impact every Competitive Academy team. The Board has worked tirelessly to determine best handling and will continue to work with our staff, volunteer coaches, and families to make this transition as smooth as possible |
