SATC mistake? Can anyone elaborate?

I've been rewatching SATC. I caught something...

So, Steve and Aiden open that bar together (Aiden an investor), Carrie and Aiden get back together, and Steve knocks up Miranda. Eventually Brady is born and Steve and Miranda marry. I'm assuming Steve (and Aiden?) still own the bar, but then, a couple years later, when Carrie is dating Berger, she runs into Aiden in the street and finds out he's not only married, but has a baby.

How did she not know?

Are we to assume Steve bought out Aiden and was no longer associated with the bar? I can't think of any other reason Steve wouldn't know about things happening in Aiden's life, and at least tell Miranda, who would tell Carrie. Right?

I see what you're saying. From Steve's side, I can see him keeping that information from Carrie intentionally. Remember when he told Carrie that she really broke Aiden? I felt like Steve had more loyalty to Aiden and wanted to protect him from Carrie's craziness.

But, if Aiden got married then Steve and Miranda would be at the wedding right? Maybe it happened while they were co-parenting but before they got together. I don't remember the timelines though.

Weren't Steve and Miranda split for a while after Brady was born? But I don't recall how that lined up with Aiden/Carry's timeline.

This. I believe they were separated for most of Brady's first year. Remember Miranda dated the hot doctor for the Knicks who lived in her building? He was at Brady's 1st bday party where Miranda finally confessed to Steve that she still had feelings for him. I THINK this was around the time that Carrie was dating Berger but I could be wrong.

It certainly could've been longer than that. Miranda would've been pregnant for around 10 months, plus another year since Brady was 1. The audience doesn't know when Aiden began dating the person, and maybe the baby wasn't planned. Who the hell knows.

In reality, it was likely a hole in the plot. Plenty of things happened on that show that didn't add up.

Not a plot hole, but it always annoyed me that Steve would be cool with his kid's first name being his last name. And what if Brady wants to take his dad's last name later in life? Brady Brady. Not very well thought out.
