| My sister (with whom I'm quite close) went on several dates with a guy she tells me is great-- good career, funny, and very handsome. She said, though, that on two of their three or so dates, the guy without irony referred to himself as "gorgeous." (Something like, "I'm looking for a partner for life, not just someone who wants a good time with a gorgeous guy"). Apparently my sister chuckled after one such reference but nothing in the guy's demeanor suggested he meant it lightheartedly. Apart from this, she says he's totally normal. But to me, this is weird. It just seems so narcissistic in totally not self-aware way. I say she should move on. What do you all think? |

How old is she?
|
| Op. She's 33 |
| If she likes him otherwise, I wouldn't break it off over that. If he really has narcissistic traits, it will show up in other ways. |
| Meh. Harmless, at this point. |
| What a weirdo. |
| Odd. Either he's a little awkward and it got a laugh the first time so he used it again....twice, or he is a weirdo / sucks. Time will tell! |
| what do you think? |
| Maybe his humor is more deadpan and your sister misread his attempt at a joke as seriousness? |
| Speaking as a guy, if it ends up he's way into his looks then she should run for the hills. I've worked my entire life in a male dominated career and have been around a few of these types. 99% are complete scum balls and as soon as he notices anything physical wrong with your sister (like getting older, weight, etc) he try to change her so she fits his idea of how she should look. |
| Men don't use the word "gorgeous" about any man including themselves. Gaydar is activated. |

What difference does that make? If her eggs are getting old then it's ok to be with a jerk? I vote arrogant tool, OP. Observe closely. |
+1 |
| That's very, very weird. I ould take it as a huge red flag |
