I think it's mostly the angle and lighting. It's casting shadows in a way that makes her look tired.

I don’t understand why someone would prefer burned out straw when their natural hair color is already blonde and actually looks rich and has dimension.

Distracted. That awful fabric what was it? It was everywhere for a bit and seems to have gone away now. It's synthetic jersey, surface printed, the back side tended to be slightly mottled b&w, stretch but more in the sense of slinky drape, not body-con.

I think you're referring to the "burn-out" look, which was very popular for a while. I've definitely not seen it for a while.

Thanks. I don't think it is burnout which does have sheer spots, probably same vintage, this is more of a wet look slinky jersey. The picture's from 2008, some brief trend that's come and gone.

I agree the dress and that sweater with the skirt are not particularly flattering on her body type. But it's a mile improvement over anything she wore in the WH. It's all just so much more normal. (And I like that blue sweater--would be better with something other than that skirt, but whatever.) Her roots look worse than normal, which gives me some fleeting hope that she's going to go back to brunette, but I'm sure that's illusory.

I'm not loving the pleated skirt but why does she look 10,000 times prettier and just more put together and sane sunning on a balcony before breakfast than she ever did when she got herself dressed for work. This makes it clear she has fine looks underneath the crazy outfits and pounds of makeup she subjected herself to.
