DD is half Asian, half white. Is one better to declare for college applications?

We're fine going either way. My thought was go Asian as colleges like minorities, but now I read about some colleges cutting back on Asians.
We're not talking Ivy league. These would be middle-tier schools. |

+1 DS is half asian half white. I feel that when it's time for college applications he will not be a unique breed. Mixed babies are popping up everywhere. |

Do not select Asian if you can help it. There are quotas for Asians and Asians need to have higher stats (tests and grades) to make it in. You have a larger group competing for a smaller set of spaces.
Essentially of all applicants with certain test scores, Asians had the lowest acceptance rate. In fact they are penalized.
