That doesn't mean the government didn't influence the decision. Your President is loudly and openly admitting to this. Are you really this stupid?

The answer is resoundingly yes.

Thank you. I feel a sense of despair that we are surrounded by these people who have absolutely no ability to understand the nuance of the issues at hand, and who are entirely devoid of empathy. It's absolutely terrifying. Who knew that stupid and evil were so closely related.

Who the heck cares about Roseanne. Government clearly had nothing to do with it. Even so, two wrongs don't make a right, and what happened now w/ Jimmy Kimmel is wrong. The orange one and fox have said far derogatory/worse things.. and they still have their jobs. Why..

You folks cannot admit that this was a decision by ABC cause if Kimmel’s comments and actions.

FCC threatened to pull their license. That is direct federal coercion. A major overreach of government power.

We all saw the video of the FCC chairman threatening ABC’s broadcast license. Do you not grasp that in the American system of government the various executive agencies and their appointed heads fall under the direct command of the executive? No, of course you do. You’re just playing games rather than acknowledging- as many conservatives have in response to this - that the current occupant of the WH is an existential threat to the most bedrock of our civil rights, the one which enshrines all the rest.

Ten examples right here. But you lefties were cheering censorship back then.

Did the government demand their firing? I repeat - did the government threaten to shut down their business if they did not fire these people?

And in case you did not hear me - did the government demand that they be fired?

Until you can answer that, you need to stop posting. You just look stupider with each successive regurgitation. It’s why 90% of America thinks MAGA rides the short bus.

Yes Biden did

Are you under the impression that a tweet from a random person is proof of your point? You seem to be the one struggling with the truth of the situation.

We won't admit that, because Brendan Carr implied the FCC would pull ABC's broadcast license. And then when MAGA apologists everywhere scrambled for their talking points and pretended this was just because of Jimmy Kimmel's mean words, Trump gave the game away and explicitly said that channels should have their licenses pulled if their talent says mean things about him. Stop lying to everyone, you spineless, craven partisan.

You’ve obviously never watched his show. He’s a partisan advocate and ranter. He’s not a comic.

He’s a comedian and talk show host and he’s said nothing more outrageous than anything Fox “News” says on an hourly basis. Why do you hold comedians to higher standards than your newscasters?

Killmeade just literally said homeless people who don’t cooperate should be killed. Not one word from the right. Just another day at Fox.
.

Homeless people are not really a demographic advertisers target.

What a dumb argument. First, Kimmel's comment is in no way equivalent. (Quote below--show me the lie or the call for death)
Two, there is no way that Kimmel's ratings and audience would be affected by such a benign comment. No. Possible. Way.
So it isn't ratings, and it's not lies, so what is it really? Oh wait--it is the FCC threatening their license and their merger.

Kimmel
"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this.""

Bolted is the issue

Who was president in 2018? I’ll give you a hint- it wasn’t Biden.

There was a time when presidents were not snowflakes.

There are people who say Trump decided to run during the WHC dinner where Obama and Seth Myers made fun of him. He walked out of the dinner. None of this is a surprise.

It’s just a few conglomerates - Disney, Warner, Fox, Sinclair - that control everything now. And they are all kowtowing to Trump and Republicans because the finance people need their deals to go through to get their bonuses.

The next administration needs to break up Disney and Fox and Warner. And Sinclair with their dominance over local markets. I think Disney’s decisions in recent days provides very compelling reasons why we need more players in the media market.

Breaking the media conglomerates should be a pretty compelling issue that resonates with most Americans.

Some people are saying this started because NexStar wants to merge with an affiliate, but would have to get FTC approval because it would make them too large.

I agree, we need to break up the media, banks, insurers, and on.

Yes Biden did

Biden, the retired Senator and Vice President who wasn’t even running for President yet, demanded that ABC fire Roseanne in 2018? Do tell.
