We all saw the video of the FCC chairman threatening ABC’s broadcast license. Do you not grasp that in the American system of government the various executive agencies and their appointed heads fall under the direct command of the executive? No, of course you do. You’re just playing games rather than acknowledging- as many conservatives have in response to this - that the current occupant of the WH is an existential threat to the most bedrock of our civil rights, the one which enshrines all the rest.

Ten examples right here. But you lefties were cheering censorship back then.

For the hundredth time, please learn what words mean. Roseanne was not censored. The government had nothing to do with her firing. What's happening now directly involves government meddling in free speech, ie. actual censorship. People have explained this repeatedly. Why do you continue to ignore facts and reality? You sound like a moron each time you do.

You may as well be arguing with a goldfish. MAGA voters are either too stupid to understand the difference, or are motivated not to and twist themselves into pretzels massaging Trump's words until he says exactly what they claim he didn't say.

+100. Not a single one of them with a principled stance on anything. They only championed free speech as a cudgel when they were in the minority. Just the pursuit of power for power's sake. Absolutely pathetic.

The people who decided to can Kimmel were not government.

Dana Walden, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, Bob Iger, Chief Executive of Disney made the decision after major affilates of Nexstar said they would drop Kimmel's programming.

After the government threatened to pull licenses or not approve mergers. That’s important.

Brendan Carr said the FCC "can do this the easy way or the hard way." What do you think he was referring to?

Did the government demand their firing? I repeat - did the government threaten to shut down their business if they did not fire these people?

And in case you did not hear me - did the government demand that they be fired?

Until you can answer that, you need to stop posting. You just look stupider with each successive regurgitation. It’s why 90% of America thinks MAGA rides the short bus.

Leave it to MAGA to include firings in 2018 when … guess who was president? 😆 Did Trump tell ABC to fire Roseanne?

Or was it those awful lunatic lefties who pushed their views onto everyone that racism is bad? Such an extreme agenda to not compare a black person to an ape. Apparently that is “too radical” for the right.

There was a time when presidents were not snowflakes.

I think this situation provides a compelling reason why we need to pursue antitrust litigation. There are too few media companies presently. It’s just a few conglomerates - Disney, Warner, Fox, Sinclair - that control everything now. And they are all kowtowing to Trump and Republicans because the finance people need their deals to go through to get their bonuses.

The next administration needs to break up Disney and Fox and Warner. And Sinclair with their dominance over local markets. I think Disney’s decisions in recent days provides very compelling reasons why we need more players in the media market.

Breaking the media conglomerates should be a pretty compelling issue that resonates with most Americans.

Also surprising but gratifying

That doesn't mean the government didn't influence the decision. Your President is loudly and openly admitting to this. Are you really this stupid?

The answer is resoundingly yes.

These dumb dumbs are also citing Trump getting kicked off twitter. Guess who was president when that happened? Apparently we’re supposed to believe Trumps own administration forced twitter to ban him.
