There's a reason Netanyahu is doing this. He's avoiding jail. There's a precedent in Israel where much to their credit, they do prosecute former presidents and PM's. Ehud Olmert went to jail for corruption. Bibi's crimes of bribery are caught on camera and far worse than the presidents and ministers of the past that were prosecuted.

This is why he ran to the right wing nutjobs in the country to get elected and why he changed/tried to change the judiciary. Pretty much, the moment post war Israel returns, he is going to the slammer guaranteed.

This is why he is expanding the war knowing Iran would be an intractable conflict. He is sacrificing the country's lives and security for his own political grip on power (much like Hamas). There's a documentary called Bibi Files available on Youtube. It was recorded before 10/7 but plenty of Israeli leaders and journalists discuss Bibi (and his wife!'s) corruption. Apparently, the wife Sarah is not any better and has a major drinking problem. She also loves expensive diamonds and champagne as gifts. The son in Miami is a bigger extremist than Bibi and thinks his dad is not hard enough. Netanyahu discussed openly with this staff the idea of his son replacing him as leader.

He thinks he is king. No wonder Netanyahu and Trump get along

Actually, some of the doc was recorded post 10/7 and it explains how Bibi and his racket of fringe nutjobs like Ben Gvir literally led to 10/7 by ignoring Gaza and focusing on securing the West Bank.
Netanyahu brought the fringe, Kahanists, essentially Israels version of the KKK, into legitimate power and they are ruining Israeli national security.
The doc also shows that Bibi always trails in the polls and loses but then somehow on Election Day he beats his opponents by virtue of essentially bribing media pundits or stealing the election.

No election except for the 2009 one was an actual fair one where Bibi easily won.

You know it was only about a 100 Hamas fighters on Oct7 who over ran Israel. At what point can Israel stand on its own feet without unlimited aid from the US tax payers?

Netanyahu doesn't want to allow US citizens to leave Israel. He is literally trying to hold them hostage in order for there to be US casualties, and use that to push the US into the foolish war he started with Iran.

There are over 200,000 dual citizenship US-Israel in Israel. Many who have not step foot in the US in 30 years or who have never been to the US. Trump and the US media will say they are US citizens. Just like they did with the hostages,
