Biden withdrew and his delegates are casting their ballots for Kamala in a completely legal way. What was legal about sending fake electors and attempting a coup? You support the guy who orchestrated that? Anyone supporting Trump after everything he has done should never have the nerve to claim patriotism or a commitment to democracy. After Kamala wins this election, I really hope that all the MAGA people crawl back under their rocks for another century.

Harris to replace Biden during his administration in the event of an emergency.

Technically you voted for delegates. Since Biden withdrew they were free to vote for someone else. That’s how the system works.

My dad was reminiscing about how the candidate used to be chosen right at the convention. I guess you’re not old enough to know that history. But there are plenty of books around that tell the history.

She has the delegates and will be the nominee and will be the president.

If Trump declines to run today, there is a process for replacing him and the GOP would run a different candidate.

This really is one of the more ridiculous arguments. When we elected the Biden/Harris ticket, we knew that, should Biden die or become incapacitated, Harris would become president. Biden took himself out. Now, do I think he was treated shabbily by a lot of people in the party and in the press? Absolutely. I didn’t want him to withdraw. But he did (and not because of a coup). You may not like it, but the parties get to decide the process for choosing their nominee.
