Kate Middleton in Hospital - Recovering from Surgery

What is worse? Having the public know all about whatever medical issue you are having or having the public speculate about what medical situation you are having?

To me, the latter but itw clear they and their PR teams don't feel the same.

I had a complete hysterectomy and two malignant tumors the size of softballs removed and went home the next morning!

Well if he said that’s what he’s doing, it must be true! A little random he was photographed driving there today but not the day of the actual surgery. I assume releasing the name of the hospital was for the pap strolls.

Depends on what my medical issue is.

The public speculation has died down. The dcum speculation goes on and on and on, until 2 or 3 posters are released from their fever dream. (This thread will go 5 more pages at least)

The plastic surgery or "injury" crowd seem a bit far afield.

What digestive-related surgery would possibly require that long of a hospital stay and recovery?

Colon resection can be required for a variety of reasons. Hospital stay and recovery from that surgery can be 2 weeks for a variety of reasons.

DP. My mother had multiple surgeries on her colon for a resection, bowel obstructions, ostomy bag, various complications--you name it. None of those surgeries required a 2 week hospital stay and they certainly didn't require a 3-month recovery period. Even if the BRF was overestimating the hospital stay (for privacy or out of an abundance of caution), the 3 month long recovery is odd.

You are lucky. My son had scar tissue from small intestine surgery that had to be repaired. He lost 2/3 of his small intestine from that scarring and was in the hospital for a month. Between major antibiotics, not able to eat for 2 weeks. loss of significant weight in that time period. After a month in the hospital he was significant restrictions for about 2 months.

I'm sorry to hear all of that! Hope your son is doing better.

It’s funny how we all want to know more about Kate’s condition and less about Charles and his enlarged prostate.

What if it was actually an ectopic pregnancy, with complications arising this week that have resulted in her not only losing the baby but an emergency hysterectomy being done? Would that be closer to a 2 week hospital stay and 2 month recovery perhaps?

Ectopics don't generally result in emergency hysterectomies. The issue is with the tube not the uterus.

Charles is old and we know what his issue is. Kate is a young mother, this is unusual for someone her age and the information provided was so vague.

Fear not! The important work of the royals continues.

Enlarged prostate is very common in older men.

certainly not in the u.s.a. they'd send you home the next day with some mifepristone for the finish, then in at least some of the states, arrest you for aborting your child.

I want to know what the condition is because I have abdominal issues, am also 42, and also had HG during pregnancy. So my interest is selfish because I am wondering if it will offer any insight into what is going on with me (though also it stresses me out because it sounds like she might have my worse-case-scenario diagnosis).
