Kate Middleton in Hospital - Recovering from Surgery

Anonymous
I still think the timeline was likely admitted on 28th to other hospital, for treatment and to be stabilized. Now has had surgery in a GI specialist facility and is recovering with a typical timeline for such complex surgeries.

Wish her well. Has to be alarming for the kids.

All too common these days. Hopefully she uses this as a platform to raise awareness for 15.24 meter parasites.

I mean, that's about the only thing that could legitimately require a 10-14-day hospital stay.

I have a hunch that royals are welcome to stay in the hospital, and pampered there, for much longer than us American plebes. But maybe a Brit who uses private healthcare services across the pond can weigh in.

This is so stupid. Royals can, and have, set up entire hospital suites in their giant palaces and castles. The only reason she's in that long, assuming they're not lying, is because she needs ICU access.

Well sure but in terms of staying after the original crisis I bet that she will stay longer than your typical American could, since we tend to be shooed out of hospitals as soon as possible due to insurance.

Have you ever had a lengthy hospital stay? It's not a hotel. It's uncomfortable, people are constantly waking you, the food is bad, you are at a huge risk for infection. There isn't some secret tier of nice hospital that gets rich people out of this, and even if there was it would be for plastic surgery, not bowel stuff which this clinic specializes in.

Um, yes, yes there is a not so secret tier of nice hospital that gets rich people out of all of that stuff. Sure, they might wake someone for medical reasons to check vitals but I’m sure if Jeff Bezos is in the hospital those checks are all coordinated and done more thoughtfully than the average person.

Ok but the London Clinic 1) isn't that and 2) she could easily have this setup at home.

None of us really knows what is going on, but I (a different PP) am just saying that a non-wealthy American can’t estimate the appropriate length of a hospital stay for a literal princess based on experience in an American hospital using regular old American health insurance. My hospital stay was, all things considered, pretty good (I didn’t have to share a room!) but there is no way I got princess treatment.

Also, I had another abdominal surgery that required just a 5 day stay, and we had our kids stay at their grandparents house because I couldn’t have them messing with my stomach. It takes so long to recover from major abdominal surgery and being with my kids wasn’t a priority because I didn’t want to have to re-start the healing process. Hopefully Kate is getting something laparoscopic though.

DP. But rich people can and do still have the same risk of getting infections like MRSA etc at a hospital that others have. A few years ago rose O’Donnell got really sick from a staph infection she got at one. Kate wouldn’t have to be with her kids because huge house, full-time staff and her kids are not babies. The length of stay isn’t simply fully determined by insurance which everyone understands would not be an issue for her.

Their current home has just 4 bedrooms. Even the nanny had to live out.

Surely you don’t think that their only house? They didnt give up the previous places Adelaide cottage is either some sort of separation home or a pit stop to royal lodge. But they still have Apartment 1A, Anmer Hall, as well as a place on Balmoral.

But if she stayed in another house away from William for so long and the media found out about that, rumor mill about their marital problems would go haywire.

If you belive William and Kate live in Adelaide together I have many bridges to sell you.

Nothing there to tuck.

She's had multiple pregnancies. Even though she's thin, I'm sure she has plenty of loose skin.

Plenty of women don’t have loose skin from pregnancy. Especially if they were young, in shape, and didn’t get stretch marks in stomach.

Yep, and if they have good genetics. Pippa Middleton looks great after having kids and doesn't have any loose skin.

What are you guys basing this stuff on though? If they had loose skin or not unless you see them with their shirt off you wouldn’t know.

Pippa has been seen in a bikini in recent months. No loose crepey saggy skin. It must be hard to believe that in shape women can snap back after kids if they were in good shape to begin with and have good genes. I had 3 kids and wouldn't need a tummy tuck I didn't even get stretch marks.

That’s luck. I was in the best shape of my life pre child #1 and got stretch marks, crepey skin and DR. I believe my pelvic structure that led to my c-section also made it so my child couldn’t drop, so my stomach kept growing and then drooping. I also came out of pregnancy with a new autoimmune/thyroid disease. Even when I got back in shape, I could never wear a bikini again.
