I hear Cap O will have a few more after this weekend- Several waiting for NESCAC cycle

Any others @ Pride?

I'm shocked the remaining goalie hasn't committed. She's nationally ranked and an amazing goalie.

I didn't know ODU had women's lacrosse. How are they? What conference? D 1 ?

ODU is in the American Athletic Conference with JMU, Florida, Vanderbilt, ECU and Cincinnati.

Congrats to all that have the opportunity to play at the next level. There truly is a place for all those who want to play in college. There are just over 120 D1 wlax programs. The level of play varies greatly from top to bottom, offering opportunities for many.

I’d say the programs can be grouped by tiers. Tier 1: 1-30; Tier 2: 31-60; Tier 3: 61-90; and Tier 4: 91+. Even within Tier 1 there is a big discrepancy between the Top 10 and 11-30. The level of athleticism, speed, and skill varies greatly as you move up in tiers. Top 20 D2 and D3 programs will usually beat tier 4 teams. Sometimes tier 3. So, players have many options at these levels as well.

There are 125 women’s D1 lax programs. USA Lacrosse says that only 3 percent of H.S. lacrosse players are recruited to a D1 program. That means 0.0024 percent go to a top 10 D1 team. Just imagine competing for playing time when everyone on your team is in that 0.0024 percent.

ODU is an affiliate member of the American conference. I’m not sure how affiliate memberships work but suspect these teams are not guaranteed a spot every year. The conference probably reserves the right to revoke these types of memberships at some time.

ODU is an odd fit for this conference. They were not really competitive in conference games last year and are ranked well below the other programs. With conference shake ups inevitable in college sports I would be surprised to see them aligned with these schools moving forward. They will be better aligned with schools like Longwood, Radford, Wofford, Gardner-Webb from the Big South.

Agree. She goes to Potomac School though so must be super smart and driven. Betting she wants a top NESCAC.

Also anyone this deep into a lax message board who refers to a team as 'Cap B' has the ability and knowledge to go look at any number of websites to see what the commits look like. The question was not authentic. Next time put the list out there yourself bub.

This is the part of the process where Capital Blue parents try to make themselves feel better by trying to make everyone else feel worse. Congratulations on your success but be humble if that is all possible. Remember college lasts 4 years and your kid ain’t making a living from lacrosse.
