Not necessarily. It was my post- and I have no affiliation to Capital. I was asking for an update on the last handful of players --and if anyone knew if or where they committed.
Thanks. |
It's okay for said player to visit schools and weigh all options. Relax.... |
61 D1 programs still haven’t committed a goalie. There is plenty of room for the YJ and other capital goalies - if that’s what they want! |
Folks, when you get to the bottom half of D1 schools the lacrosse is not great. And in some cases is just downright bad. D1 is not the end all be all. |
100%. And you actually go to college for academics so holding out for a top academic school is the smart thing to do. Also many top D3s could easily beat the lower tier D1s. |
| Agreed…. Not shocked at all that she is not committed yet. She will be at a top NESEAC school as soon as that is an option. |

My free advice: choose the best school that you can get into and the best academic fit. Then-- f lacrosse is part of the equation at that school-- great!.
Go to the best college possible. If your DD can get into, say UVA for example, but lacrosse is not an option-- and that's the best school she can get into and would be happy there-- then go to that school. Best of luck to all the 2025s in finding the best school for them. At the end of the day, to me, the most important thing is-- the person should be happy and in a good place mentally. |
This is good advice. A good number of commits will not continue playing all four years. |
No - 1 decided she didn’t want to play in college and the other is weighing options. |
| Does anyone have any insight into what is happening with Pride’s 2025 recruiting? Not trolling and genuinely hope the girls find the right programs for them. Just surprised there aren’t more commitments at this point given it is a pretty strong team. |
I do not but am truly hopeful the girls that want to play land where they want. These are some fantastic girls - on and off the field! |
This is generally good advice. #1 being that the young woman is happy and healthy. However, a driven to play in D1 young woman may not want the best academic schools that want her. So she choses perhaps a lower academic ranked school that offers her what she wants and needs to thrive academically and personally in order to play. This too is just as great. One should not judge these these young women as they must make the decision for themselves based on their preferences, personal and family data points. |
There are also a bunch of girls who would like to do a major such as nursing which most D1 programs simply just wont allow due to the clinicals during there junior and senior years which would be a conflict with practices or games. Some will allow it but you do what's called a 3 and 2 where you would play 3 years and then give up your senior year and stay an extra year to do the second year of clinicals. |
