Leagues except MLSN1 home fries picked birthdates of 8/1 to 7/31. There is no playing down. Many telling you are can't dictate unwritten self created rules via anonymous forum. |

It seems one person is arguing that it will be case by case and you won't be forced to play up on grade, nor should you have to for long term plans.
And it seems like the other person is saying if you don't play up on grade you will be left behind and clubs will have an unspoken rule of not selecting you on top teams. I feel like the first stance is more reasonable. How can a player currently playing on grade, move to a younger pool, and not be selected to the top team, without it being an obvious scandal? |

There could be some tough decisions for certain players and clubs / teams in the sprint.
My kid is late December 2010 and currently on an RL team. The 2010 ECNL team is a top team and plays really well (possession, European football). Unfortunately, the 2011 team is also a “top” team in the sense that they win, but the play terrible football. Basically, they focus on being physical and tough, going long and winning second balls. They want chaos in and around the box in order to score. They don’t create goals. Really horrific to watch. Terri or for development. I’d rather my kid play up on his current RL team than play on the 2011 ECNL team. His development would be better playing up on an RL team with a strong possession based philosophy than being on a “top” team that plays like shit. |

Another Facebook thread where 90% of the resposes suggest Aug birthdays play on the team thats their grade in school.

You are so stupid, I am your sugar daddy who pays millions of taxes |
Top teams at top clubs have a large pool of players to choose from. Because of this they wont roster Aug play downs because they dont want the hassle and dont need to deal with all the issues related to playing down. On top of everything else playing down (being misaligned) severly limits players ability to get recruited. Committments are free media for clubs that can be used to recruit new players for an entire year. They want them to make more money and field better teams. |
Again. Case by Case |
Seems like your delusions arent limited to you soccer. |
Almost every response was suggesting that Aug birthdays should play on the team thats their grade in school. |
| you cannot find any evidence that a club is "forcing" someone to play up, or a 'rule' you fabricated. Every club says flexibility and case by case. It's understandable both cases existed |
This is not a voting game, every kid is unique |
I think you posted wrong link. That one is October kid debating playing up, for college, at age 10 and most thumps up went for guy pointing out thinking about college in 5 the grade is ridiculous. |
| Also, college soccer is not a one time deal, player continue to develop fast between 17 and 23. Even one is in D3, he/she can transfer to D1 later. A % of D1 players are drafted to play PROs later. So focus on development, not your current stupid grade. |
Hahahaha... So dumb. College coaches are looking for immediate impact players. If you dont deliver they'll treat you like garbage trying to get you to transfer portal to a different team. There is no development going on in college soccer. |
The why do you want to play college soccer. For the little schorlarship? it is not even enough to pay my property tax . |
