| Three people go out for drinks and appetizers. Server is very good. Friendly, makes multiple trips back and forth, and we sat outside so those trips were a bit longerl. (Not saying this is above and beyond, but rather noting that there was zero problems with the service.) Three drinks and three small plates add up to $53. There was a difference in opinion about how much tip to leave. How much tip would you leave? |
20% on the pretax total and upward. |
| 10 or 11 dollars. |
| probs $12 |
| Obviously someone wanted to only round up to $60 in order to split it to $20 per person. That isn't good. |
| 53$? 11.00 |
| $10 - $11 |
| $11 at least |
|
$10-$12
What was the range your group was discussing? |
That would be pretty crappy. |
|
Good service=20% and round up, so $11
Great service=25% and round up, so $14 |
+1 |
| $10. |
|
$10 for decent service. More if I'm feeling generous.
|
| Yeah, the person whose turn it was to pay this time gave $7.00. I saw the cash sticking out of the bill and realized it was too low, so when the person paying got up and went to use the bathroom before we left I stuffed some more money inside the leather folder. Just wanted to see if my instinct was right because I felt kind of weird about overstepping someone else's decision on that. But I did not want to the server to get less of a tip then they deserved!! |
