the photo of her in the car with her mother - her face looked swollen / puffy which is what would have happened if they'd forced her to gain 20 lbs |

Context is everything. I guess we’ll never know what Diana might have grown to become if she hadn’t been hand selected for Charles as a teen, and treated appallingly by her unfaithful, unloving husband. But this thread digresses…. |
She is in hiding with her parents and kids. He would have been seen with them on a "school run." He doesn't have them.. Piers Morgan said this is HUGE and he is close to Camila |
This is interesting. I tried googling for cites, do you have one? |
Sensationally, the Princess went on to say of his death: ‘I think he was bumped off.’
Of course, there have been conspiracy theories that the car crash in Paris which led to Diana’s own death was staged deliberately because she was with the ‘unsuitable’ Dodi Fayed. But until the Settelen videotape was shown on American TV in 2004, the idea that Mannakee’s end was anything other than an accident had never been taken seriously. What’s more, Diana dramatically claimed on the tape made in the early Nineties that the death had been deliberately arranged by secret service agents because of their romance. |
Yes the photo was released directly to the wire services and some pubs (the royal rota) in addition to being posted on Instagram and Twitter. There is also clear evidence that some pubs received some kind of verification from the palace about the time, location, and photographer of the photo, stating things like "a spokesman confirmed the photo was taken by the Prince of Wales early last week at Windsor." These comments could not have come from the social media posts as neither of them contained that much info. And while some of the tabloids might play fast and loose with the word "spokesman," the wire services and the BBC do not -- if they stayed that a spokesman said something, it cannot actually mean that they pieced that together from social media posts. It means that a spokesman for the royal family provided that info directly.
I do think news agencies are questioning their own processes now as a result if this incident, and taking responsibility for verifying and publishing a photo that did not meet their standards. The guy from AFP said as much -- it sounds like many agencies ran verification through weekend news editors but that photography editors did not see the photo until later, and they immediately flagged the issues that ultimately led to the kill orders. I think at the time the sense was that Kensington Palace was a reliable source who had not misled them in the past, as opposed to a stringer or third party source they would have put through more stringent verification. There is also fundamentally the problem of the royal rota, which leads to some international publications relying on rota members for BRF news, when normally they would get it directly themselves. So there IS self-reflection by the news agencies, for sure. But no, they did not yank a photo of Instagram and call it a day. This photo was released through the KP press office (run by a former journalist from a respected of organization, with official comment. |

King Charles’ jealousy is well documented .
William is entitled to make these comments, which, frankly, are pretty unremarkable, but part of the reason the marriage with Camilla has worked so well is that she understands that Charles is the star. William has to be careful not to wake the green-eyed monster," a friend of the King's told an outlet. Charles’ jealousy was cited by Princess Diana as a source of conflict between her and Charles in her Panorama interview with Martin Bashir—and was also dramatized in The Crown. She said: “We’d be going round Australia, for instance, and all you could hear was, ‘Oh, she’s on the other side.’ Now, if you’re a man, like my husband, a proud man, you mind about that if you hear it every day for four weeks…With the media attention came a lot of jealousy, a great deal of complicated situations arose because of that. The Duke of Sussex also wrote of the King's envious streak in his memoir, Spare. "Pa and Camilla didn’t like Willy and Kate drawing attention away from them or their causes. They’d openly scolded Willy about it many times.” The whole family is crazy https://www.theroyalobserver.com/p/prince-william-warned-not-make-king-charles-jealous |
Devil's advocate here: could this just be a temporary arrangement while she recovers? Because she wants to be away from the public eye but not separated from her kids. I'm not ruling out marital issues, just trying to consider all possibilities. |
I don’t think so. She could get privacy and recover at the Palace if she wanted to and a colostomy bag doesn’t mean she can’t make a video statement from the neck up. She’s not dead because they can’t hide that. Her family who are very close was never seen going to London Clinic during her surgery and neither was Will which is unusual for what we know about the close knit Middletons. No pictures of cars leaving the palace to school so William being on the school run daily makes no sense . Her staffers have also come out and said they don’t know what’s going on and there’s radio silence. The Daily Mail, editor is friendly with the Middletons, has slowly been throwing punches at Will. All roads are hinting at divorce |
Rumors are conjecture, so you are saying that human have the capability to flap their lips to make conjectures. Wow! This has never happened before in human history! Never before, with this Kate issue, first time. |
PP here. I'm willing to be convinced about divorce. But the staffers would say they don't know what's going on, wouldn't they? They'd be carefully instructed to say they don't know what's going on. |
DP. In this country, the Supreme Court has made decisions and statements where they don't seem to realize how closely their every word is scrutinized and parsed, where they don't seem to realize that every decision is not just far reaching but actually changes the law everywhere, like an earthquake. They just seem naively unaware of their influence. The BRF seems similar, to me. They know that their words and clothes and actions are scrutinized, but they don't know what that means. Kate has surgery, announces she'll be out until Easter - and now the entire world has her divorced, in a coma, the victim of all sorts of medical and marital maladies. When all she did was take some leave. |
Kate taking some leave is definitely not all that happened, and that by itself wasn't what caused all the scrutiny. What caused the scrutiny were the mysteries about the various photos, where are William and her family, and so on. But you knew that. |
This post is crazy. Of course the Supreme Court knows that every single word they write will be scrutinized and parsed. Just like the BRF knows everything they will do will be scrutinized -- Kate Middleton is the exemplar of this. That's why people are freaked out; this latest series of missteps is so unlike Kate's usual MO that most people think Kate wasn't even behind any of this. |
