That’s really awful if those poor kids see a marriage with DV in it. That’s worse than Charles and Diana but honestly it makes sense if William is violent. Diana admitted she’s the hothead and Charles rages and can get irritable too but never as dramatic as Diana.

Diana threw herself down the stairs while she was four months pregnant with William almost killing herself and the heir and the Queen who never frets was shaken up. They knew she was loony after that.

Diana once had an affair with a married man and called him 300 times in a day via payphone and had staffers call as well. The tabloids threatened her and she backed down from her lie that she didn’t know how to use a payphone.

There was also furniture breaking and vase breaking with one of her Middle Eastern lovers -I think the Pakistani heart surgeon dude. She would threaten suicide whenever she felt he wasn’t in love. Dodi and her were fighting in front of William .

God love her but She was a mess.

She also told William everything about her personal life burdening the poor boy with stories of her romance woes . She enjoyed being the damsel in distress and the center of attention. That’s not an appropriate boundary to have with a teenage son. William was like her father

He didn’t know Diana was psycho. They didn’t live together until after marriage. Part of the reason the Queen opened up to premarital relationships and didn’t fancy arranged unions is because of the mess Diana was.

The Queen knew Diana’s grandmother well . She didn’t think she’d be crazy

Maybe. If they had simply posted it on their Instagram, which most of us don’t follow, a few people would have thought it was cute, maybe noticed some oddities, and would have been satisfied to leave it at that until after Easter. The problem was releasing it as “news”. And maybe the bigger problem is the combination of arrogance and stupidity behind releasing it as “news”. And the even stickier problem is that they’re attracting a LOT of attention for the wrong reasons without reassuring anybody who might be genuinely concerned about Kate’s well-being.

This is inaccurate. They released the photo on Instagram and Twitter.

I think they both released it on instagram and twitter and issued it to news agencies.

That doesn't appear to be the case. Rather, it seems news outlets picked up on the update from Kensington Palace's social media accounts, and then requested further info/clarification from KP:

"(CNN) -- The first official photograph of Catherine, Princess of Wales, since she underwent abdominal surgery in January has been released by her and her husband, William, Prince of Wales. Kate is seen seated outside, surrounded by her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in the photo credited to the Prince of Wales. “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day,” a post on their official Instagram account said alongside the photo. The message was signed off by “C”. Sunday marks Mother’s Day in the UK. The photo was taken earlier this week in Windsor, Kensington Palace told CNN."

No, I think you’re wrong. This reads like the text of a press release that came with the photo. Also the last sentence is crucial because it really does seem like they straight lied.

Possibly. But I think part of the kerfuffle in this case is due to at least one of the news agencies acting atypically by not doing the usual due diligence re social media posts, as noted by the BBC:

"In order to use the new photo as quickly as possible, the BBC took the one used by Kensington Palace on their social media accounts."
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-68526972

The more usual process is noted in the article as well, fyi. There are obviously now very ruffled feathers on the part of the news agencies.

It was the exact same image, though. Perhaps somebody at the BBC is upset but in the context of the story it doesn't matter; KP handed an image to news agencies that was manipulated enough to be unpublishable.

In fairness to Diana, your husband telling you he only married you because he was forced to must be very dehumanizing to a very young woman. She was depressed at the realization he wasn’t a Prince Charming and it wasn’t a princess fantasy and she was just a breeding mare to create heirs so she wanted to act out in hopes she’d get Charles affection and attention

‘Charles’s wife was horrified at the ranting and raving that William unleashed on occasion against her husband in her presence.

‘The rows were shattering, by Camilla’s account in the early days, with William doing the shouting and Charles submitting meekly on the receiving end. As she described it, William held nothing back.’

It was a wrath, suggests Lacey, commensurate with William’s sense of himself as future King.

Today, it is largely hidden, but younger brother Harry has his own views on William’s anger.

Writing in his memoir, Spare, Harry claims that in one 2019 row at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace, William had ‘grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.’

A dog bowl was apparently broken in the fracas. (Prince William has never given his version of events.)

The fight Harry describes sounds similar to the Tiktok conspiracy of Kingston and William hanging out that day and a fight ensuing

The other woman was surprised that the teenage son was mad at his dad? That's not shocking. What would be shocking would be if he weren't mad at his dad.

I know but why is this story coming out now ? This is the worst possible time and the title of it is very misleading. Given the Daily Mail is part of the royal rota (the inner web of royal press) someone from the inside had to OK this story. Maybe Camilla but I don’t see why she would bother. Not her circus, not her show. She took a week long vacation for herself last week. It looks
like the RF is toxic and dysfunctional and it’s all too much for her to take so she needed to get away for a week and probably connect with her family as well.

It’s got to be Camilla…she becomes competent and stable with the wales family chaos.

I doubt Camilla cares about anything but her royal palace and her scotch!

She is strong as steel. The press called the woman a horse for 20 years. Why would she suddenly care now to be seen as the responsible one and why would she court the press when she hates and doesn’t trust the press? I don’t think she cares or even wants the responsibilities of Queen. During a time when the Palace needed her most, she took an unplanned week long vacation. All of these people are not up for the gig and the Queen knew it . Kate and Camilla are not going to be very active queens

My take on Camilla's vacation is that Charles was undergoing something pre-surgery to shrink the tumor, so she knew she'd be needed when he had the surgery and took a vacation before that. I could be wrong.

I also think she wants her legacy to be something more than the side-piece, so she does care about being responsible. I mean, she was the side-piece and I'm not defending her, but I think that might be part of her motivation now.

How it came to be acquired does matter. If the news agencies pulled this from social media without verification to avoid being scooped, some culpability rests with them. Notably, none of them will be explicit about how they acquired it, and that also seems somewhat curious. If they're saying it was officially issued to them from royal sources, aside from just being posted to social media, then that's different. It's possible KP was hoping this heavily photoshopped image would glide under the radar to buy Catherine further recuperation time and assuage concerns about her for the time being. Once the issues with the image came to light, it made everything seem that much more confusing and concerning, but both have hurt their credibility, and likely, professional relationship.

On the shorter thread someone posted this video of and AFP guy talking about it. It seems like the agencies had internal mistakes but also KP violated whatever trust relationship they thought they had. I don’t think he would say this if they had just copy pasted from Instagram.

Who is Nurse? Anyway, the woman in these pics doesn't need a tummy tuck. Kate made Nicole Kidman look like she needs a tummy tuck.

To add: they would have been better off, mostly likely fine, had they issued no photo or an old photo or just not lied about it (photoshopping and *2024). Self-inflicted PR wounds.

Even if she is okay with not being queen, she wouldn't want to be the cause of demise of the money milking institution her child could inherit. It would hurt George more than William.

I'm not invested in this debate (DP) but as a mom I'd much rather my son inherit some money, get an education, and have a chance to go live his own life than become the King of England. That doesn't sound appealing at all, even with privilege and access to royal funds. These people are all nuts. Including QEII, bless her. It's a weird, dumb job and I truly don't know why anyone would want it.
