I think one. But these kids had a very hard and weird BASIS experience, starting there in 8th grade. Hope they all got lots of money and get a good start on life.

I know some of them and it isn't one kid. I know the 3 students who respectively got into and will be attending Haverford, Princeton and Barnard. Good kids who have worked hard.

Wonderful news, not just for those kids and their families, but for all of DC. Proud and happy!

no UMD College Park or UVA? Seeing this list makes me remember how screwed we are in DC having no decent public college, with TAG being insufficient to begin with and not even likely to be around when my 5 year old is ready.

Well William and Mary is a food VA state school, and I see lots of HBCUs on the list, which garner slightly higher DC TAG amounts if one enrolled.

Really happy for these kids, especially for the amount of merit aid! Great news.

Congratulations to the kids. BUT---it's very interesting to me that for all the accelerated curriculum, pushing kids out for not being "smart" enough, etc., these acceptances are not unlike that for Latin. Interesting.

Only 16 kids. As a PP said, they were the Basis guinea pigs (sacrificial lambs?); they had a weird experience and an abbreviated BASIS curriculum because they began as 8th graders.

Most parents are rightly reticent to send their high schoolers to a brand new school with just over a handful of of classmates. Several of these kids are the first in their family to go to college at all, and most prioritized schools where they had a good shot at merit aid.

I would say that Latin college acceptances this year were much better.
