Yes, it’s just projected to go to #1 in the UK now. Anyone know if it’s true that TS geo-locked the variants to only be available in the UK?

God you’re all so ridiculously invested in making her a villain as her mega fans are in making her a mastermind. It’s so tiring. Nobody is doing all of these Machiavellian things.

It’s easily verifiable that she dropped UK-only tracks

I dislike album variants and wouldn’t buy any but Taylor’s music is not preventing people from buying Billie’s or Charlie’s music. Taylor or her label are simply trying to keep her album at #1 by releasing more tracks.

That’s what I’m saying. She’s dropping variants to stay at #1 when other artists release their albums. Thank you 🙏

How old are you? Do you understand free markets? Capitalism generally? You seem confused. Did you wander out of some commune? Are these other pop stars in need of charitable help to achieve similar sales? I don’t think you have quite thought this one out.

If she was a man, she’d

be the man.

I mean… okay. Do you think indie artists are doing it for the fun? Not the money? Is it just offensive when the successful ones get paid?

And? Are they really competitors, she and whoever this other woman is? She released her album over a week ago according to the above. This isn't where everyone gets a participation trophy. Taylor Swift can release whatever she wants whenever she wants wherever she wants, just like the other woman is. It's a business. Being at #1 means something. Taylor Swift is just better at it.

There’s no time she could drop anything and NOT be “competing” with some other female artist. It’s so weird that anyone frames it this way.

Exactly. I should have put "competitors" in quotes. She's just running her business as she fits.

She's like the Simone Biles of pop music, just competing against herself and breaking her own records.

Oh god y'all sound like children boasting that some brand or product is better because it's more popular

No. But disliking something because it’s popular does not a personality make.

She doesn't have anything to do with my personality. Unlike the people participating in the thousands of pages of insanity over parsing some immature woman's high school romances here.

People sometimes create a lot of mess, have a lot of feelings, as something completely dies. But once it’s dead, it’s dead to you. I think that’s what the album showed- the messiness. And the Manuscript said I’m good, it’s all good, I just showed you what I went through but it’s fine. I’m happy, I get what it was all for. That’s my take.

I agree. People forget she wrote this album two years ago. The songs reflect how she felt at that time, not now.

Two years ago? Most of these are sad songs about her breakup with Matty Healy, which did not happen until last June. A lot of the album was written last summer and recorded in the fall.
I know people involved in the making of the Fortnight video and can tell you that it was not filmed until Feb of this year.

I know people... lol

I do. I live in Brooklyn and my kids go to school with some of the filmmakers’ children. We also know Ethan & Maya Hawke

When the video was filmed is irrelevant to when the song was composed.

You can say that about literally anyone posting favorably about anyone on the entertainment forum. Why are you here? That makes even less sense.

Still a shitty thing to do. She just did the same thing with Billie Eilish. She cares so much about her public perception…how does she not know how bad a look this is?

It’s why Matty etc dumped her. She is emotionally and socially stunted, which is not necessarily her fault - she’s just a product of her circumstances (in the spotlight since a young age). I like her music but not her immature personality.

I'm stunned by your lack of self-awareness.

Not really. There aren't thousands of posts about any other celeb. Y'all are just particularly deranged.

+1. I am actually very sad for her. I think deep down she is dying at the moment, but she has to keep doing it with a broken heart and will up the PR 😢 I recall seeing a video of her leaving her Eras concert in Ohio last summer and bawling inconsolably in her car, prob because of Healy.

Taylor has been pining for Matty for years, but her feelings were never reciprocated. He never saw her as any more than a fling. She just released an album professing to have deep feelings for him, maybe even being the love of her life, but he never felt the same way. He got engaged to another woman. How much clearer can it be to her.

she egged herself on and probably was egged on by some friends that he was her one true love. i honestly don't think she cared so much for him consistently. she needs to move one and stop living in fantasy land.

She did move on. You realize songs and albums don't just materialize the next day...

I doubt it. She just played Maroon & Cornelia Street as surprise songs in Liverpool tonight. Both about Matty.

Both of those songs are about Joe Alwyn. You are seriously unhinged.
DP

You are wrong. She referenced Maroon in Sam or Chloe or Sophia or Marcus on the new album, which is about Matty. And she talks about getting drunk on his roommates rosé. His bandmate and former roommate loves rosé. Joe has never had a roommate. She also mentions how she lost him, and how she wakes with his memory over her. This has absolutely nothing to do with Joe.

I don’t think Maroon is about Joe, but Cornelia Street is so obviously about him that she did a pap walk down Cornelia Street after their breakup to show her fans she was okay. (And also a reminder of how performative she is…)

She used to rent an apartment on Cornelia Street and likely used it with both men. Tonight she was angry, sad, devastated… Went from “And I hope I never lose you, and I hope it never ends” in Cornelia St. to “And I lost you in Maroon.” A day after the engagement announcement. Yah, those songs are related and about one and the same man, and it’s not Joe.

The songs are about Joe. She sang those songs because people like them and she doesn't want to sing them when Travis is there, which will be soon.

Taylor's feeling fine tonight - she's posting on Instagram while watching the Chiefs get their Super Bowl rings. You are so lost.

+1
The PP is seriously obsessed, to the point of being unhinged. I have to wonder how she functions in the day-to-day world.
