Does anyone else think that its possible Brett Kavanaugh simply cannot remember the incident because it had zero impact on his life at the time and because obviously, he was very drunk when it happened?

Jesus have you been reading any of the coverage over three days? Yes plenty of people believe this. It is the most likely scenario.

I understand that the focus is on the swing voters, but they are standing on the shoulders of many other Senators who need to be held just as accountable for their votes.

Yes, I believe many people believe this. I think it's either this (no memory while blackout drunk) or so entitled that he thought his "horseplay" doesn't count as sexual assault so he can claim he's "innocent." Blackout drunk is most likely IMO.

Thanks. I watched the whole thing yesterday I try not to watch the talking head on the TV because half the time they can't speak properly or read what is under their noses and it undermines everything. Also, aside from all the political hoo-ha, I have a life threatening illness I'm dealing with right now. You really need to calm down.

Pretty sure it’s not a total one-off. And regardless he could’ve have been massively more sympathetic. He just sucks, no question.

I think she actually specifically said not her boyfriend. She said that they "went out." I took that to mean that they went to movies together or dances together occasionally, maybe held hands or kissed but nothing particularly serious. But it did appear that he is the reason she knew Kavanaugh. He probably wasn't at the gathering, as she'd probably remember that, but I can totally see something like she runs into one of his friends at the club, and the friend says "Hey, Chrissy, a bunch of us are hanging out this afternoon at X's house...Squi's gonna come join. You wanna come over?" And she says "Sure!". Ad then she ends up leaving before Squi shows up. It's probably also why Leland doesn't really remember Kavanaugh....she went because C was going, and maybe she knew Squi or one of the other boys as well.

My white big law 52yo DH believes he remembers it and knows he can get away with it. This while I floated the above possibility to him.
