NP. Do you listen to yourself? Perhaps not legally negligent, but I don't understand on what planet, those parents are not morally and ethically negligent, in not intervening in their son's radicalized dangerous ideas and having access to deadly weapons.

I feel like you'd think differently if the son was Muslim or black or latino - the story would be told as negligent parents who let their son be radicalized, become a thug, become a gang banger who could easily get their hands on guns.

If there aren't laws requiring people to lock up their firearms to keep their children from accessing them, there should be.

Someone mentioned they would never send their ki with major issues to one of these schools now. Just what we need. One kid out of the small population is a psycho killer, but the rest likely benefited tremendously from this setting and were decent citizens. These kids need this setting and at a regular school the special needs department is not equipped to deal with kids with needs for extensive behavioral and emotional support. If everyone who's kids need this level of support fights the system the kids needing that level of support suffer and the kids who can function in a mainstream environment suffer.

NP. Do you know that the guns weren't locked in a safe? Locks and safes can be defeated.

If the killer didn't have a gun the victims would be alive.
