National defense, funding for highways, breathable air and potable water, Auto safety regulations, medical research (that has produced treatments which saved members of your family), civil rights, antiterrorism professionals, safe air travel, safe workplaces, safe drugs, safe food, museums, national parks, I could go on for days you ignoramus. |
Yes, if we don't pay massive tribute to Washington, all that goes away.
Amazing to read that on a DC centric website.

| Safe workplaces for all ! Papercuts are a real hazard. |
You cannot be this stupid. |
| Trump wanted a shutdown because it takes Epstein off the front page! |
Yeah, that must be it.
|
Epstein Shutdown. |
I believe it. There are a lot of stupid people who have zero understanding how industries are interconnected with government already and have been for a long time.. or trolls. |
| Will Israel get their money and time if the government is shut down? I'm really worried |

We need actual healthcare reform. In order to do that, we need actual lobbying reform.
Big Pharma and Healthcare Execs simply can't keep raking in the compensation they are on the backs of the American people. It should not be a for-profit industry. |
So ignorant. |
You are likely living off smth government sponsored too. Don't delude yourself. Top employers in the USA are HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION. Think about it for a minute. How does this happen that in 38 states (including high GDP states like NY, CA) Healthcare is a number 1 employer? Why do you think this is? It's because healthcare is a beneficiary of government spending. Some facilities or hospitals only exist and employ people because we have Medicare/Medicaid. Same with education that's beneficiary of student loans and foreign students. Private industry has been outsourcing (in-shore and offshore) for decades now, with government subsidizing wages for American workers. If you are a small business owner your customers only survive and patronize you because their jobs are subsidized. It's a house of cards. |
Taxes are at unprecedented lows, but yes. If we don't pay for it, it all goes away. Do you think things happen by magic? The government employs the people that make all those things happen. Please, for the sake of the country and everyone you know and love, take a civics class. |
The two most heavily subsidized industries int he U.S., HEALTHCARE and EDUMACATION, seem to be the industries that have the greatest cost increases year by year. Why is that? Maybe because the providers smell free gubmint money and keep raising prices to soak up all that tax payer subsidized "free money"? |
"We" don't pay for anything. We have half the country paying zero income taxes and constantly taking. You're welcome. |
