He is so thirsty for some sort of violent confrontation so that he can declare marshal law or something.

Many of us are hoping for the same.

I’m sure these guys aren’t getting laid. Won’t even show their faces, and women don’t like weak men.

Premature ejaculation is so on brand for the ICE and the Gravy Seals.

DC does this regularly. They come back.

+1

Yes the big encampment at Franklin square that was massive was cleaned I think during the Biden admin — the terrible encampment at McPherson definitely was. (People do trickle back but I think breaking up the overcrowded massive encampments does seem to work. At its worse McPherson had almost 100 tents….now we are back to our standard half dozen or so residents.)

Ok. No one other than sandwich guy seems to have the balls to confront this administration. They’re not even going in the dangerous neighborhoods.

Kind of smells like a flop.

Meaning if you’re here illegally and get pulled over for even a simple traffic violation, adios!

I don’t really understand the hostility to illegal immigrants. They do jobs that Americans won’t do. They work cheap. They work hard. And if you’re an American and you have a job that’s threatened by some guy who just got here from Guatemala who doesn’t even speak English, you are a complete and total loser.

I’m a Dem and moderate on immigration stuff. I really think jobs are less an issue but if you live in a community with lot of undocumented immigrants it does put a major strain on both public schools and ER/hospitals. My family lives in a border state and it’s a big issue for hospital access/beds. And it’s hard to argue that it hasn’t affected schools like McPS — handling little children who don’t speak English is pretty easy because they learn so quickly but when you get older teens who haven’t really been to school before and also don’t speak English, that is a major burden that we just sloughed onto public school teachers. I don’t think we democrats do ourselves any favors by pretending that those issues aren’t true and don’t need some kind of solution.

We need more people. Americans don't have enough babies. We're going to end up like Japan with barely any workers and a massive number of old people. Immigration is critical to growth, in every sense of the word.

What is the point of moving homeless people from one street to a different street? What exactly did you accomplish?

1. Shelter
2. Rehab
3. Jail

Those are the choices.

Who is paying for rehab?
Shelters are already full and no money provided to build more.
You can’t arrest or detain someone for not having a place to live.

So, what is the answer? Truly, only a service center to address the individual needs of the homeless will succeed. Is the national guard bringing building materials, social workers, and expanded access to benefits to actually address the problem?

1. The taxpayers, obviously.
2. Mayor said this week they have capacity.
3. Recent Supreme Court jurisprudence says you can arrest for public camping.

Sorry, doing nothing or warehousing homeless in luxury condos is no longer an option Thank you for your attention to this matter.

1. No mechanism for this without qualifying for Medicaid (BBB cut that) and meeting dsm-v for substance use disorder
2. There are approx 700 homeless in dc and as if this morning about 7 beds for men and 10 for women in shelters.
3. Eighth amendment.

What? Ladies? Police are both women and men, fyi.
Frankly, what they are doing is pissing off the police - undermining their chief and leader is not a good way to endear yourselves to them.

Why can't the DC government put the homeless in the vacant office buildings and have a kitchen on the ground floor to feed them?
